Trump Replaces Obama’s Portrait With Shocking New Painting — Critics Left Speechless

It appears that Donald Trump has been working remodeling the White House’s interior when he isn’t busy announcing a trade war against other countries and thinking about annexing Greenland.

Trump quickly put his own unique imprint on the US presidential building after his inauguration in January, removing any decorations from the Biden administration and raising flags anywhere he could.

The 47th president of the United States is replacing a portrait of previous President Barack Obama with a painting depicting the events that followed his historic assassination attempt, according to the official White House social media account.

A video on X featured the modification with the tagline, “Some new artwork at the White House.”

Here is a brief summary for anyone who are not familiar with or may have forgotten the details of the attempted attempt on Trump’s life.

On July 13, 2024, gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump when he was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Before security could launch themselves onto the stage, a bullet would come as close as clipping the now-president’s top right ear.

Then, with blood pouring down his face, Trump sprang to his feet and threw his fist into the air. ‘Fight, fight, fight’ was his yell as the photo was shot, and it would later become a rallying cry for his presidential campaign followers.

According to the AP, the White House stated that Andrew from the Blue Blue Gallery in Delray Beach, Florida, presented the image to the home, which was made by Marc Lipp.

It’s uncommon for a US president to hang a portrait of oneself while in office, according to a New York Times report. The publication also stated that historians could not locate another example of this happening.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt later defended the decision to hang up the artwork, saying the building is the “executive mansion is the president’s home, and he has the right to make changes as other presidents have in the past.”

“President Trump decided to temporarily display this painting, which represents a pivotal moment in history when he nearly lost his life,” Leavitt stated.

Later, press assistant Harrison Fields would confirm (through MailOnline) that the Obama portrait had been relocated to the ‘Entrance Hall of the White House State Floor’, posting a picture of the new position.
