Shannen Doherty Shares Heartbreaking Cancer Update

Cancer-stricken Shannen Doherty, who is struggling for her life, recently revealed devastating health news.

The star of “Beverly Hills, 90210” said on January 5 that a CT scan revealed brain metastases.

“My fear is obvious,” she wrote on Instagram.

Doherty has been open about her ongoing treatment since she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and then again in 2017.

Her most recent post, which included a disturbing video, served to bring Shannen’s ongoing struggle back into the spotlight.

Brain metastases, in which cancer cells have moved to the brain from another part of the body, are being treated for after Shannen disclosed the news on Tuesday.

Shannen also said that, in order to protect her head during radiation treatment, she has been given a special mask.

”January 12, the first round of radiation took place,” she explained in an Instagram video and added: ”My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic, and there was a lot going on in my life.”

In addition, she thanked the doctors and nurses for their kindness and care.

“I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai,” she continued. “But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”

She kept her breast cancer diagnosis quiet in 2015 so that she could continue working, and she ended up starring in the 90210 revival only four months after her friend and former co-star Luke Perry passed away.

However, she ultimately opted to go public with her illness, using social media to keep her followers apprised of her progress.

Shannen beat the dreadful cancer, and she has been very public on social media about her ongoing treatment, fears, and victories since then.

“Is it all pretty? NO but it’s truthful and my hope in sharing is that we all become more educated, more familiar with what cancer looks like,” she wrote on Instagram in October 2021. “I hope I encourage people to get mammograms, to get regular checkups, to cut thru the fear and face whatever might be in front of you.”

The 90s icon recently admitted that she plans to leave video messages for her loved ones when the time comes, but she anticipates living another 10–15 years.

We pray that the news in Shannen’s most recent update is not as dire as it seems and that she will be able to pull through this.

Despite the grim diagnosis, Shannen insists that she’s “got a lot of life” left, and we share her optimism that she’ll be around for a long time.
