Pentagon Launches Powerful Nuclear Missile In Chilling Test Of National Defense
As a test for the nation’s doomsday response in the event that such an occurrence ever takes place, the US has launched a missile.
The topic of nuclear weapons is often in the news, and some international leaders even use the threat to intimidate other countries.
If nuclear weapons are ever needed, some nations will choose to test them out in the improbable event that they ever become necessary.
Although the likelihood is slim, the best nations are ready for anything, right?
Earlier this week, the United States made the decision to test their intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which can carry a nuclear payload to any location on Earth.

The military confirmed that the missile was unarmed when it was launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Wednesday, May 21st.
According to local officials, it travelled an astounding 15,000 miles per hour to a test site in the Marshall Islands, approximately 4,200 miles from the California base.
Explaining the nuclear weapon, the US Air Force site states, “The Minuteman is a strategic weapon system using a ballistic missile of intercontinental range. Missiles are dispersed in hardened silos to protect against attack and connected to an underground launch control center through a system of hardened cables.”
“Launch crews, consisting of two officers, perform around-the-clock alert in the launch control centre.”
With tensions rising in Europe as a result of Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, the Air Force emphasised after the test that it was “not a response to current world events.”
In the meantime, Trump this year warned that nuclear weapons may “end the world.”
While the nuclear bomb entered service in the early 1960s, the remarkable Minutemen weapons system was introduced in the late 1950s.
For the Air Force and everyone engaged with the program, Wednesday was undoubtedly a historic day.
Gen. Thomas Bussiere, who is the commander of the U.S. Global Strike Command, said: “This ICBM test launch underscores the strength of the nation’s nuclear deterrent and the readiness of the ICBM leg of the triad.”
New, more modern Sentinel missiles will eventually replace the 400 Minutemen III ICBMs that are already in use in the United States. It’s uncertain when that improvement will be finished, though, because it has been beset by delays.
