Melania Trump’s State Visit Hat Sparks Buzz Over Hidden Message
The First Lady made a big impression when Donald Trump and his wife Melania arrived in Windsor on Wednesday for their state visit to the United Kingdom. Before it became known that Melania Trump’s hat had a secret message, it garnered a lot of attention.
Right now, Donald Trump is in the UK for his second state visit. A state visit is an official visit to the United Kingdom, where the head of state is invited by the reigning monarch on behalf of the government.
The president of the United States has previously made a state visit. In June 2019, Queen Elizabeth extended an invitation to him. Typically, state visits are not extended to presidents who have served a second term. They are invited to lunch or tea instead.
However, King Charles has decided to take a slightly different approach. The BBC reported in February that Trump has received his second invitation to a state visit.
Many people were surprised by the invitation, and there was a lot of debate about whether it was because there had been a new president between Trump’s two terms in office, a new monarch, or something else entirely.
Anyway, yesterday was Donald’s and Melania’s second state visit. The First Lady received a lot of attention from the moment they landed by helicopter and were met by Prince William and Princess Kate.
The hidden message of Melania Trump’s hat
King Charles and Queen Camilla were waiting for the presidential pair when they arrived at Windsor Castle, and William and Kate were there to welcome them.
When Melania arrived, she was dressed in a classic gray Dior suit, but her hat was the real attraction.
In many circumstances, her eyes were hidden by the wide-brimmed purple hat she wore. The hat reminded me of the one that was the center of attention at the inauguration of Donald Trump. When the president wanted to kiss her, it stood in her way. The internet then went viral for this unpleasant encounter.
During the initial portion of her and Donald’s state visit, Melania wore a wide-brimmed hat once more, which has garnered a lot of attention. Marian Kwei, a stylist and employee of Vogue, is certain that the hat is not a coincidence.
“The wide-brimmed hat that hides her face points to an attitude where she wants all eyes to be on her husband and his agenda while they are here,” Marian Kwei told the BBC.
This feature is emphasized by the hat’s hue. Despite his reputation for wearing red ties, the American president decided not to wear one during the official visit. Rather, he donned a purple tie that matched the color of his wife’s headwear.
Laid a wreath at Queen Elizabeth’s grave
The presidential pair had a number of experiences during Wednesday’s state visit. Before a march in the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle, King Charles had asked the president to examine a guard of honor made up of three regiments from the Household Division: the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, and Scots Guards.
They visited a number of historical locations that attested to the close ties between the United States and Great Britain.
The presidential couple laid a wreath at Queen Elizabeth’s grave in the afternoon, according to the British Royal Family. At the state banquet that marked the end of the day, formal dress was required.
