Khloe Kardashian Reveals She Had “Incredibly Rare” Tumor Removed From Face, Reminds Others To Get Checked For Skin Cancer
Khloe Kardashian opened up about her skin cancer care, addressing the bandages she’s been wearing for the past few weeks. She revealed on her Instagram story that she underwent a procedure to remove the tumor from her face.
Sharing a story of her cheek, the reality show star wrote that she thought it was a pimple. But after a couple of months staying in place, she decided to get professional checkup.
“I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realizing it was not budging,” Khloe wrote.
The Good American co-founder got her bump checked by multiple professional doctors who believe the tumor is incredibly rare for someone her age. A few days after biopsy, they announced her the terrifying news: the tumor had to be removed instantly.
Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher did the procedure and the tumor was removed completely.
“All my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process,” she wrote over a picture of her face with a bandage. “You’ll continue to see my bandages and when I’m allowed, you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation in my cheek from the tumor being removed).”
Kardashian states that she was “lucky and all I have is a scar to tell a story with,” adding, “I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these face bandages look.”
Kardashian also exposed her previous experience with skin cancer and urges everyone to have themselves checked for unusual skin conditions.
“At 19-years-old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had a surgery to remove that as well,” Khloe said. “I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day, religiously so no one is exempt from these things. Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as your annual checkups.”
Followed by the story exposing her situation, she went on to post stories of her wearing a bandage on her face in public. She deeply thanked her makeup artist for dealing with the face bandages for weeks.
We wish her health and wellbeing forward, and we thank her for reminding us the importance of checking ourselves up at the doctor for any unusual signs.
