Jeremy Meeks Today: What The ‘World’s Hottest Felon’ Looks Like At 42

For Jeremy Meeks, a seemingly unremarkable mugshot altered everything.

The ex-offender, once known worldwide as the “world’s hottest felon,” has left his past behind and built a net worth estimated at between $5 million and $10 million. He has walked the runways of Paris, signed multi-million-dollar fashion deals, written a memoir, and is now quietly reinventing himself as a mentor and advocate. Before you see him today, you might want to sit down.

Piercing Blue Eyes and a Photo That Broke the Internet

It all started on June 18, 2014, when the Stockton Police Department arrested Meeks and three other men during a multi-agency operation dubbed Operation Ceasefire — a targeted gang sweep in Stockton, California. Meeks was listed as a “convicted felon, arrested for felony weapon charges,” having allegedly been found with a semi-automatic handgun in his vehicle. He denied the charges.

What happened next no one could have predicted. The department posted booking photos of the arrested men on its Facebook page that same day. Within 24 hours, Meeks’ photo — capturing his sharply defined bone structure, piercing blue eyes, and an almost sculptural handsomeness — had racked up more than 15,000 likes and 3,700 comments, the overwhelming majority from women enamored with his looks. The BBC reported that the photo ultimately amassed more than 95,000 comments and 20,000 likes.

By June 19, entertainment site BuzzFeed had recognized the photo as a meme. By June 20, Twitter fans had launched the hashtag #FelonCrushFriday in his honor. Stockton Police Department spokesman Joe Silva acknowledged that the mugshot had received more attention than any other photo since they launched the Facebook page in 2012.

A Dark Road to That Moment

Few who clicked “like” knew the full weight of the story behind the photo.

Jeremy Ray Meeks was born on February 7, 1984, in Tacoma, Washington. His early life was defined by profound instability. Growing up surrounded by drugs and violence, he described himself as a “heroin baby” born to parents struggling with addiction. His father was imprisoned for murder when Meeks was just nine months old, having killed his mother’s best friend.

With no stable foundation at home, Meeks found himself drawn into street life. He became affiliated with the North Side Gangster Crips and began cycling in and out of the juvenile detention system. What started as minor infractions — skipping class, curfew violations — escalated rapidly. In 2002, Meeks was charged with robbery and corporal injury to a child, assaulting a 16-year-old boy. He was sentenced to serve two years in a California prison. Prior to that, he had already served a nine-year sentence for grand theft. By his own account, he moved out on his own in tenth grade, and was charged with a felony for auto theft just two months after turning eighteen.

Conviction and an Unlikely Turning Point

On February 5, 2015, Meeks was convicted by a federal judge of one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 27 months in federal prison. The judge further ordered him to participate in the 500-Hour Bureau of Prisons Substance Abuse Treatment Program. He was incarcerated at Mendota Federal Correctional Institution.

But behind bars, something extraordinary was happening. While still incarcerated, Meeks began receiving “hundreds and hundreds of letters” from devoted fans each month. He also secured modeling contracts, reportedly receiving 45 offers before his release.

On March 4, 2015, photographer and talent agent Jim Jordan’s company White Cross Management confirmed having signed a management contract with Meeks — while he was still serving his sentence. Meeks served 13 months of his 27-month sentence and was released from prison on March 8, 2016, after which he spent a few weeks in a transitional housing facility.

When he walked free, modeling agencies were already waiting. He told ABC News, “I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life.”

From Runway Debut to Red Carpet Regular

Meeks wasted no time. On February 13, 2017, he made his runway debut for the Philipp Plein Fall/Winter 2017/2018 collection at the New York Public Library during New York Fashion Week. Wikipedia He later made his European runway debut at Philipp Plein’s resort 2018 presentation at the Cannes Film Festival, followed by a walk during Milan Fashion Week.

Though not every door opened easily — in April of that year, Meeks was barred from entering the United Kingdom upon landing at Heathrow Airport due to his criminal record and was sent back to the United States — his career continued to accelerate. He went on to model for Tommy Hilfiger, appeared in a campaign for Israeli sunglasses brand Carolina Lemke, and became a fixture on international runways and red carpets.

In 2019, Meeks signed a $15 million deal with Fashion Concept GmbH to create his own clothing line. He also pursued acting, appearing in films including Trigger (2020), Secret Society, True to the Game 2 and 3, and Secret Society 3: ‘Til Death. More recently, he has secured fragrance endorsements with Gisada Switzerland and has been a regular presence at high-profile European events like Germany’s Lambertz Monday Night.

A Life Rearranged

Meeks’ personal life has seen significant change alongside his career. He was married to Melissa Meeks for nearly a decade, with whom he has three children: Jeremy Jr., Robert, and Ellie. Their marriage ended in 2018 after photos surfaced of Meeks with Chloe Green, daughter of British billionaire Sir Philip Green and heiress to the Topshop fashion empire. Meeks and Green had a son, Jayden, born on May 29, 2018, but ended their relationship the following year. He has spoken positively about co-parenting with both mothers.

During a red carpet interview in August 2025, Meeks revealed that he had been celibate for three years. “I’m not being distracted,” he explained. He confirmed in 2024 that he is single, telling People, “I am single. I’m trying to focus on myself.”

Model Citizen: Putting the Whole Story on Paper

In 2024, Meeks shared the most personal chapter yet of his journey through his autobiography, Model Citizen: The Autobiography of Jeremy Meeks. “I’m in a place in my life where I am extremely vulnerable and want to tell my story, the whole story, and hope that people can connect to it and understand how I came to be in the place that I’m at in my life,” he said in an interview with People.

The memoir details the full arc of his life — addiction, violence, prison, viral fame, and redemption — and was widely received as a statement of self-reflection rather than self-promotion.

Turning Fame Into Purpose

Perhaps the most striking evolution in Meeks’ story isn’t his runway success or acting credits — it’s what he’s doing with his platform now. Beyond his entertainment career, Meeks has focused on advocacy work, helping underprivileged youth avoid gang involvement and the criminal justice system.

In May 2024, he shared on Instagram that he was working on a project to “potentially change lives for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals.” His Instagram, which boasts over 1.6 million followers, has gradually shifted away from glamour posts toward motivational content, charity work, and selective fashion appearances.

In a 2025 feature, Meeks reflected: “My purpose isn’t to be famous anymore. It’s to do something meaningful.”

At 44, Still Rewriting the Story

Now 41, Jeremy Meeks is a different man from the forklift operator booked in Stockton eleven years ago — though the face remains as striking as ever. He lives primarily in Los Angeles, traveling for modeling and acting engagements, and continues to mentor at-risk youth through community programs.

His journey from a gang-affiliated felon with a troubled childhood to an internationally recognized model, actor, author, and advocate is one of the most unlikely reinventions in modern celebrity culture. And it’s still being written.

For Jeremy Meeks, a seemingly unremarkable mugshot altered everything.

The ex-offender, who was formerly known as the “world’s hottest felon,” has left his past behind and amassed a net worth of almost $5 million.

And before you see him today, you might want to sit down.
