A heartwarming video by the campaign to end loneliness just made my day!
The Campaign to End Loneliness believe that people of all ages need connections that matter. There are nine million lonely people in the UK and four million of them are older people. Many older people find constant loneliness hardest to overcome. They lack the friendship and support we all need.
They’ve been experts in the field of loneliness and connection since 2011. They share research, evidence and knowledge with thousands of other organisations to drive positive change in older people’s lives.
They inspire everyone to connect and bring communities together across the UK.

It’s not only in the UK. People all over the world are becoming disconnected from reality. It’s easier to chat on the desktop and “add new friends” on Facebook than approach a person in the cafe and start chatting face to face.
This beautiful campaign sent out “experts” on the field. The kids approached lonely people in the cafe and started asking them all sorts of questions.
First, the people were protective and avoided their questions, thinking that they will leave them alone, but the experts were persistent and made an incredible point at the end of their conversation.
“It’s kinda boring to have coffee or tea by yourself,” the kids said back stage “you need somebody to talk to.”
After the little chat between the “experts” and the people in the cafe, many people said that these kids made their day.
