Gwyneth Paltrow Wins Her Lawsuit – Stops To Whisper Something In The Plaintiff’s Ear

In 2016, Oscar-winning actress and Goop CEO Gwyneth Paltrow was sued after a ski accident.

The actress filed a countersuit after denying the allegations.

The judgement has been rendered, and many are stunned by it.

However, right before the verdict was reached, Paltrow stood up and whispered something on the plaintiff’s ear.  Read on to find out more below….

Because of her wellness company, Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow is often associated with a lavish lifestyle. So as word spread of her high-profile trial, many people were curious to learn more.

Retired optometrist Terry Sanderson had filed suit against Paltrow, alleging that the actress had assaulted him in 2016.

Sanderson and Paltrow’s accident happened on February 26, 2016, at Utah’s Deer Valley Ski Resort.

The two sides had differing views of several aspects of the event, including when and where it took place.

The trial started on March 21, 2023, and the attorneys presented their closing arguments on March 30.

Sanderson initially claimed that Paltrow “skied out of control” and crashed into him in January of this year.

He was “knocked down hard, knocked out, and suffered a head damage, four fractured ribs, and other critical injuries” as a result.

The next month, he reduced his requested damages from $3.1 million to $300,000.

In February 2019, though, Paltrow responded with her own lawsuit. She said Sanderson “plowed into her back” and struck her with a “full ‘body blow,'” leaving her “shaken and upset.” Her injuries were “very mild,” she claimed.

The case, she claimed in her counterclaim, was a “effort to abuse her celebrity and money.”

For the trouble of defending herself against “this meritless allegation,” she sought symbolic damages of $1 “plus her costs and attorneys’ fees.”

The jury heard testimony about the accident from both Paltrow and Sanderson, and then decided who was to blame for the collision based on the evidence presented at trial.

Sanderson said that he was traveling downhill while Paltrow was climbing. Nothing was in my line of sight.

He heard a “blood-curdling scream” and then “was hit in my back so hard,” according to his memory. Following that, “it [was] all black,” he adds.

“I tried to move, and I could not move a limb. I couldn’t move my head. I couldn’t move my body,” the retired optometrist said. “Nothing was responding.”

He feels that the accident has altered his character. He claims his words are now “upside-down and backward.”

He also described himself as a “self-imposed recluse” and said he no longer feels “as engaged” in things or “has the same spark” as he once did.

Nevertheless, Paltrow’s evidence painted a very different picture of what happened.

She recalls taking her kids, Apple and Moses, together with their father, Brad Falchuk, skiing (who at the time was only her boyfriend).

She claimed, “Mr. Sanderson skied directly into my back.” She reported feeling “extremely upset” following the collision.

When Sanderson’s attorney asked her whether she had “some sympathy for Mr. Sanderson’s declining brain,” she added, “I really do. I feel sorry for him. It seems like he’s had a very difficult life.”

“But I did not cause the accident,” she firmly stated. “So I cannot be at fault for anything that subsequently happened to him.”

Testimony was heard from a wide range of individuals, including two of Sanderson’s children, Sanderson’s ex-girlfriend, the individual Sanderson’s counsel claims is the only witness to the collision, a ski expert, employees from Deer Valley, and more.

Steve Owens, Paltrow’s attorney, released a statement saying, “We are pleased with this unanimous outcome and appreciate the judge and jury’s thoughtful handling of the case. Gwyneth has a history of advocating for what she believes in — this situation was no different and she will continue to stand up for what is right.”

At a moment widely seen, the famous actress was seen leaning toward Sanderson as she left the courtroom, saying “I wish you well.”

The actress took legal action and ultimately prevailed. What are your thoughts on this court case? Leave a comment and tell us what you think.
