Everyone Says The Same Thing When Mark Zuckerberg Puts An Enormous Statue Of His Wife In Their Backyard
Social media users are taking notice of the enormous monument to Mark Zuckerberg’s wife that he placed on their lawn.
There are a million different ways people have expressed their love for their relationships over the years, but Zuckerberg’s latest antics may be the most extravagant of them all.
To show his fans how he shows his love for his wife, the self-made billionaire unveiled a statue of Priscilla Chan on Instagram on Tuesday.
Daniel Arsham, a designer who specializes in large-scale works of art, painstakingly sculpted a teal statue of the 39-year-old Zuckerberg, clearly drawing inspiration from the ancient Romans, who loved to express their love via art.
In the first picture, Chan is seen standing next to the statue that features her face, sipping from a travel mug while dressed in a dusty pink robe with white and blue accents.
The vibrant artwork features a mother of three who is wearing a wind-blown silver robe and is gazing off into the distance.
“Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife,” Zuckerberg captioned the post, which also included a video close-up of the statue, which was resting on the soil of their backyard.
Chan later shared the post on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “You can’t miss me!”
Many social media users praised the Facebook owner for his amazing display of affection, while others were left stunned.
“This is next level!! I love the matching mug,” wrote one user, while another added, “Dang, that is epic.”
A third also chimed in, stating, “This is beautiful and total [sic] awesome. Well done, @zuck.”
But once the picture and video were uploaded on X (previously Twitter), the conversation on the subject took an unexpected turn.
Many appeared to roll their eyes at Zuckerberg’s remark after reading the caption.
“That’s a great idea, Mark. I’ll sell my kidney and do it for my wife,” this user said.
“We don’t all have a billion pounds,” another added.
The tweeter expressed dissatisfaction with the monument, saying, “Most of us can’t comfortably afford a whole statue, Mark.”
You have to admit, regardless of the financial element, it’s kind of cool, right?
Nine years later, at an intimate outdoor wedding at their Palo Alto, California, home, Zuckerberg and Chan were married. Zuckerberg had first met Chan at a party in 2003, when the two were both attending Harvard College.
The couple astonished their loved ones by saying “I do” on the day of the ceremony, which was initially planned to be a celebration of Chan’s medical school graduation.
They had Maxima as their first child three years after becoming settled in marriage, and then August and Aurelia.
