Elton John “Refuses To Be Seen As Weak” And Conceals The Truth About His Health

Elton John reportedly lost the ability to utter, “I’m Still Standing.”

John, after nearly sixty years of unfathomable creativity, will live forever. The 77-year-old superstar, however, is reportedly having health problems and, despite the fact that he “can hardly move without help,” he is “determined to maintain his larger-than-life image,” according to sources.

Elton John has experienced multiple near-death experiences throughout the years, most notably in 2013, when he nearly passed away from appendicitis.

“I was a ticking time bomb. I guess I could have died at any time,” said John, who’s one of dozens of celebrities with the prestigious EGOT title.

In 2017, he had life-threatening complications following surgery for prostate cancer and said, “I didn’t really know how close to death I was.” the five-time Grammy winner, then 72, continued, “I was ill because I kept saying, ‘Please let me get well. I want to see my kids.’”

The “Nikita” singer has recently disclosed that he is recuperating from partial eyesight.

At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 6, John made his first public appearance since being left with limited eyesight. He and his 61-year-old spouse, David Furnish drove a purple golf cart that was adorned with glitter to roll down the red carpet for the premiere of Elton John: Never Too Late.

The movie chronicles John’s lengthy career, starting with his iconic Madison Square Garden performance in 1974 and ending with his last performance at Dodger Stadium in 2022. It also features private exchanges between him and Furnish, the man he married in 2014 after meeting in 1993. Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, the couple’s boys, were born via surrogacy.

Facing mortality

The “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” singer is conscious of his mortality and shares his son’s concerns about his impending death, even if he has been immortalized in the profession.

In the film, John says of Zachary and Elijah: “They think about my mortality. They worry about my mortality.”

Next, referring to Furnish, the co-parent of the boys, John continues, “Not so much David, but me.”

The “Sad Songs” singer then explains that Zachary and Elijah “love their daddy, so they want me to be around forever, [and] I would love to be around forever.”

‘Strong as an ox’

Furnish claims that his well-known spouse felt “a lot of anxiety” while viewing sequences that dealt with his impending death.

“I don’t think it’s a conversation you want to have with your children. I don’t want to plant that seed in their mind,” Furnish says of the “Hold Me Closer” singer. “Elton’s been through a lot, but he’s also as strong as an ox. He rarely cancels shows. He’s a strong man, and he’s a healer. He’ll probably outlive me. He’s just so tough.”

Furnish adds that after 30 years together, the couple is only now “at this moment that we’ve only ever dreamed of.”

However, sources indicate that the singer of “Rocket Man” is having a serious health crisis and is fighting desperately to hide his weakness.

The bespoke purple cart that John rode around the TIFF red carpet in, according to an insider, “was to hide” his “reliance on a wheelchair.”

“Elton refuses to be seen as weak. He’s so determined to maintain his larger-than-life image, but the truth is he can hardly move without help.” The tipster continues, “He doesn’t know where he’s going half the time.”

“That’s why the golf cart makes sense, it’s a way to hide the truth from the cameras. Elton’s focus now is all about cementing his legacy. He wants to control the narrative of his life as an artist, husband and father, before someone else does it for him!”

Disney+ will begin to broadcast Elton John: Never Too Late on December 13, 2024.
