Elon Musk’s Response To Tom Hanks’s SNL MAGA Joke That Caused A Huge Uproar Among Trump Fans

Elon Musk’s outraged response to Tom Hanks’ contentious Saturday Night Live comedy has left many stunned.

The 68-year-old actor was among the numerous well-known people that attended the SNL50: The Anniversary Special, which was held on Sunday night, February 16, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live.

In a 2016 Black Jeopardy episode, Hanks portrayed Doug, a supporter of Donald Trump, in the original comedy.

In the moment, Doug, sporting a MAGA baseball cap, declines to shake hands with Kenan Thompson’s character, Darnell Hayes.

Republican viewers were not pleased with the comedy, and many of them took to X to attack Hanks for his portrayal.

One person wrote on X: “Tom Hanks and SNL thought it would be hilarious for him to put on a MAGA hat and act out a stereotype of half the country in a desperate attempt to cope with Democrats crushing defeat in November. Not surprising no one watches SNL or NBC anymore.”

Another wrote: “After watching Tom Hanks do a sad mockery of me & every other Trump supporter on SNL’s 50th anniversary show I know I’ll never watch another of his performances or movies.”

Meanwhile a third wrote: “Tom Hanks went on SNL dressed like a slob mocking millions of Trump supporters…. Keep it up libs. You’ll never win another election again.”

Musk, the head of Trump’s recently established Department for Government Efficiency, retweeted an inflammatory remark posted by a Republican on X, demonstrating his own strong response to the sketch.

The tweet read: “Hey p**o @tomhanks.”

“Not ALL #MAGA hat wearing patriots are white.”

“In fact, most ra***m comes from the elite Democrats, you a** hole.”

Musk included two fire emojis with the post, retweeting the statement.

People were horrified that Musk re-tweeted the comments, with one person writing: “Why would someone post that about Tom Hanks and then why would anyone waste their time to repost something like that without any validity to the claim?”

While another said: “Prove it, Elon.”

One person described it as “school yard level” in the interim.

Not only did Hanks’ sketch go viral over the weekend, but another scene showed him and his wife Rita Wilson, who is also 68, abruptly leaving the stage.

In the minutes before, host Jimmy Fallon spoke to the audience before joking that no awards will be given out throughout the three-hour broadcast.

Fallon said, “Apparently, there’s been some confusion,”

“This is just a concert. We’re not giving out any awards tonight. So I just want to make sure that everyone knows that.”

At that moment, Hanks, a father of four, was spotted in the audience grasping his partner’s hand before they climbed out of the seats and made their way to the back door of the studio.

Then, as the two left the venue, actress and singer Wilson waved her finger at the camera, and 50-year-old Fallon asked, “Tom? Rita?”

“We lost Tom Hanks and Rita,” he added. “Sorry. It wasn’t their fault.”
