Eight Years After Losing His First Wife, Country Singer Rory Feek, 59, Marries Again In A Breathtaking Cliffside Ceremony

Following a devastating loss, country music artist Rory Feek has allowed love to enter his heart once more. Rory surprised his new bride with a momentous gift that left everyone speechless and signaled the start of their lovely new chapter together in a small and unexpected ceremony.

After the tragic death of his wife, Joey Feek, eight years ago, country music artist Rory Feek has found love once more. He married Rebecca, a woman who has been his daughter’s teacher for ten years.

Recently, Rory announced the happy news that he and Rebecca, a devoted teacher who has been instructing his daughter, Indiana Feek, for years, are now married. The encouragement of Indiana herself made this endearing union even more memorable.

Rory talked candidly about the lovely road that brought him and Rebecca to this unique occasion in the heartfelt blog post. He disclosed that, as he strummed his guitar, God sowed the notion to marry Rebecca in his heart through a simple song.

Rory and Rebecca had been wary about talking about marriage despite their growing intimacy, especially with Indiana’s intense attachment to her late mother. One morning in late March, it all changed. Rebecca showed up at the farmhouse as usual to drive Indy to school, but on that particular day, something unusual occurred.

They left the room after their morning prayers as usual, but they were back in the kitchen in no time. Rebecca then let Rory know that Indiana had a message for them. Asking with all the childlike knowledge and innocence she could muster, “Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa.”

Though taken aback, Rory was profoundly touched. Indiana explained her reasoning, saying, “My Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother.” Emotion overload, Rory understood this was a warning. Following a deep and meaningful discussion, the couple made the courageous decision to move forward.

The wedding was held under a stunning timber-frame pavilion on a lovely Sunday afternoon, July 14, in the charming village of Greycliff, Montana.

Many of their family and friends were unaware of the wedding, so they were delighted to attend in spite of the short notice. Rory had been working on this lovely song since April, and it was his gift to Rebecca.

Rory Feek thanked Rebecca for giving him the opportunity to fall in love again and to make her happy as he thought back on the day. The country music artist talked about how grateful he was to have met a new life partner and to be able to spend time with his daughter, Indiana.

In Rory’s own words, “I found myself thinking about how blessed I was to be given the opportunity to love again. To not only feel loved but to get the chance to give love again. To be the one who gets to spend my life making Rebecca happy.”

After losing his wife Joey to cancer at the age of forty, Rory has mustered the courage to be married again after eight years. On March 4, 2016, Joey departed from this life, leaving a lasting impact on Rory. Rory described her last moments and the lasting influence she had on him and their family in a very touching blog entry.

“My wife’s greatest dream came true today,” Rory wrote, capturing the bittersweet solace he found in Joey’s passing. “She is in Heaven. The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased, and all her tears are dry. Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior,” he penned.

The singer disclosed that Joey passed away at 2:30 p.m. with her family members surrounding her in prayer. Rory held her hand and bid her farewell with a kiss in her last moments.

Even though Rory shed a lot of tears of sorrow, he also described many tears of happiness and wonderful moments that brightened the dark period. “When a person has been through as much pain and struggle as Joey’s been through, you just want it to be over,” he said.

Joey’s funeral, which took place in a grove of sassafras trees behind their farmhouse, was a very moving occasion. Relatives and friends came to bid farewell to the lady Rory called “the greatest person I have ever known.”

Their barn, which doubled as a concert venue, was where the service got underway.

The Isaacs sang “It Is Well With My Soul” during the funeral, and Pastor Jerry Young—who had baptized Joey in her little Indiana local church—spoke poignant memories of her.

Upon Rory’s turn to speak, he stood on the podium, gazing at the beautiful image of his wife and realizing that words could never convey how much she meant to him.

Five years after the devastating death of his wife Joey in 2021, Rory talked candidly about time’s passing and his late wife’s continuing influence in his life. He considered the intricacy of mourning, observing that at times it seemed like Joey’s passing had happened yesterday and at other times like it had happened in a different lifetime.

Rory and Joey were still residing in their charming Pottsville farmhouse at the time. He spoke of the large homestead as a location where the memories of their shared existence seemed to be preserved and time frequently seemed to stop still.

He also mentioned their daughter Indiana, who died at the age of two, Joey’s younger sister. Indiana, Rory observed, had become a “little person.” He said that watching her grow was a moving reminder of the years that went by, highlighting how time can be both profoundly impactful and hard to comprehend.

In the middle of this introspection, Rory has discovered a fresh sense of joy and optimism. A new chapter full of love and potential has begun with his recent marriage to Rebecca, a schoolteacher who has played a big role in both his and Indiana’s lives.
