‘Dragging’ His Right Leg On A Golf Course, Donald Trump Raises Health Concerns

When video of Donald Trump’s movements became viral on social media, a laid-back day at the golf course took an unexpected turn.

There has been a lot of conjecture on the health of U.S. President Donald Trump following his recent golf outing at his Mar-a-Lago resort. He was seen getting off of his golf cart in a video that was first posted on Instagram and then featured in the Daily Mail on March 2, 2025.

As Trump stepped out of the car, his right leg was clearly dragging as he made his way onto the course to get ready to swing.

He was dressed in dark slacks, a white polo shirt, and a red baseball cap in the video. He was dressed in his usual laid-back golf clothes. But the thing that garnered the most attention on the internet was his movement.

As soon as the video became viral on social media, several users questioned Trump’s physical health. Some said the movement was similar to symptoms experienced by stroke victims.

On Instagram, several users shared their thoughts directly under the video. One user wrote, “This happened to my uncle after he had a stroke.” Another added, “That’s not normal.”

A third comment stated, “There’s something very wrong with Trump. Period.” A fourth user wrote, “He’s dragging it like a dementia or stroke patient.”

The discussion extended to X, where similar concerns were raised. One user posted, “Watch that right foot. Something’s not right.”

Another user commented, “YES. Also note the right side of his face. And that bruise. Concerning [sic]…” A third post questioned, “Has he had a stroke?”

Other users on X also highlighted the unusual movement. One user wrote, “He’s definitely dragging his right leg.” Another added, “Look at his right leg when he gets out of the cart.”

Trump’s team has not yet responded to the rumors about his health in public. However, the video still generates a lot of online conversation and controversy, with many people waiting for more information about the U.S. President’s health.

Remarkably, this is not the first time this year that concerns have been raised about the health of the U.S. President. When Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron on February 24, 2025, his right hand appeared bruised, which fueled online rumors once more.

Online users quickly noticed what seemed to be a huge, discolored bruise on the back of Trump’s right hand in photos of him taken during the ceremonial event. Social media users speculated about his health after seeing this bruise.

One observer pointed out, “Scrolling Getty and couldn’t help but notice this photo of a huge bruise on Trump’s hand today.” Another user concurred, “I also noticed the bruise on Trump’s hand. I wonder what’s going on there?”

Speculation about possible causes surfaced, as a user wondered, “Golf injury?” Another person had a different theory, questioning, “I wonder if he’s recently had an IV?” Meanwhile, one user took a more solemn tone, writing, “God save him.”

Others seemed more concerned about the timeline, with one user noting, “He must have had this same bruise for quite a while….like weeks, bc there’s been a couple of other photos from about a month ago w that bruise on the same hand. But the fact it’s still there, is really concerning…as in what’s up w his health [sic].”

As speculations swirl online, The White House has dismissed concerns about Trump’s health. “President Trump is a man of the people. His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day. President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

On at least two further instances, in August and November 2024, Trump’s right hand was observed to be bruised or red, according to wire service images.

According to a December 2024 issue of Time magazine, Trump also claimed that his hand injuries were caused by shaking hands during this time.

Trump said in an interview with NBC that same month that he will make his complete medical report public, but he hasn’t done so yet. Since Trump did not make his medical records public, a group of doctors conjectured about his health during the 2024 campaign based on his public appearances.

According to the research, “Trump is falling concerningly short of any standard of fitness for office and displaying alarming characteristics of declining acuity.”

They pointed out that Trump is getting close to 80 years old. They noted that although many older persons continue to be very competent, aging can cause cognitive impairments that can affect a person’s capacity to handle challenging circumstances.

Bruce Aronwald, Donald Trump’s personal doctor who has been managing his health since 2021, released his most current medical records to the public in 2023.

Aronwald stated that a thorough examination showed Trump’s “physical exams were within normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional.” He reported that laboratory tests, cardiovascular assessments, and cancer screenings all returned normal results.

Aronwald also noted that Trump had lost weight due to improved diet and physical activity. He concluded, “It is my opinion that President Trump is currently in excellent health, and in his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle for years to come.”

Trump last made his medical information available to the public more than a year ago. Trump is not required by law to provide his medical records, even though it is standard practice for presidential candidates to do so.

According to Jeff Gulati, a professor of political science, Trump has no reason to reverse his choice to withhold medical information in two straight elections because there have been no notable repercussions.

Trump will be the oldest president by the end of his term, making him the 47th president of the United States. The public and medical professionals are worried about his health because, at 78, he is already one of the oldest people to hold the position.
