After A 49-Year-Old Father Of Two Passes Away, There Is An Urgent Warning For All Pet Owners Who Allow Their Dogs To Lick Them
Following the untimely death of a father of two, pet owners have been alerted about the potentially fatal effects of allowing their animals to lick them.
Craig Jones had a potentially fatal illness from his dog’s saliva and was sent to the hospital.
Before medical help arrived, the 49-year-old’s wife discovered him cold and purple.
His body failed to respond to treatment after six cardiac arrests, and he tragically passed away from organ failure.
Further examinations revealed that Mr. Jones had a sepsis-related illness and connected the infection to one that dogs frequently carry.

Shortly after his pet beagle licked an open wound on his leg in December 2022, the horrifying incident occurred.
Psoriasis, a skin disorder that frequently results in scaly patches, wounds, and open sores, was the source of Mr. Jones’ gash.
The body’s immune system destroying healthy skin cells is the reason of the chronic diagnosis.
The deadly disease is believed to have entered Mr. Jones’s bloodstream when the “lovely” dog’s tongue touched him.
Since then, a coroner has issued a warning about the risks associated with letting a pet lick wounds.
A medical microbiologist told the inquest that the “extremely rare” virus affects about one person out of every million.
Dr. Eoghan O’Neill stated: “It’s a very progressive bug which has a 33 per cent mortality rate once it enters the bloodstream.”
Because of his illness, Mr. Jones may have had a weakened immune system, which made him even more susceptible to infection.
He had his spleen, an organ that eliminates infections, removed when he was 24 years old.
But according to his relatives, he was “fit as a fiddle” and an avid runner.
According to Coroner Cróna Gallagher, Mr. Jones’s sepsis was caused by an illness that the family pet may have spread.
She continued by urging people to practice “good hygiene” when around animals.
It comes after an inquest found that a teenager died because an emergency call handler failed to recognize the warning indications of sepsis.
Cyrus Perry waited eight hours for a callback from NHS 111 when he was just seventeen years old.
His mother, Hayley, had expressed her disappointment with the system following the incident.
