Diane Keaton’s Heartwarming Final Post Before Her Death At 79 Leaves Fans In Tears
Before passing away, Diane Keaton paid a touching homage in her last social media post.
At the age of 79, Keaton passed away in California on Saturday, October 11.
According to a person who spoke to People, her health had “declined suddenly.”
Keaton, whose remarkable acting career stretched over 50 years and saw her collaborate with numerous other well-known figures in the field, as well as earn an Oscar for her performance in Annie Hall, has received an abundance of tributes.
She hadn’t shared anything on social media in a while; her most recent Instagram post was made a few months before to her death.

Keaton commemorated National Pet Day on April 11 by sharing a photo of her Golden Retriever, Reggie, in the post.
A happy Keaton with Reggie was shown in the endearing photos, along with ones of the dog lounging on a blanket.
The post was a partnership with home decor brand Hudson Grace. The company wrote in the caption: “Proof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton.”
Keaton, who was well-known for loving dogs, claimed to have welcomed Reggie back in 2020.
She posted at the time, “THIS IS MY NEW DOG, REGGIE!!! IS SHE HALF HORSE OR HALF DOG? MAYBE SHE’S INSANE! I LOVE HER!”
Tributes to Keaton poured in after her passing, including from the several individuals she collaborated with over the years.
Taking to social media, Leonardo DiCaprio wrote, “Diane Keaton was one of a kind. Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself.”
“A legend, and icon, and a truly kind human being. I had the honor of working with her at 18. She will be deeply missed.”
Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who portrayed Keaton’s daughter in the Father of the Bride films, paid homage to the legendary actress on Instagram.
She wrote: “Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life.”
“You are one of a kind, and it was thrilling to be in your orbit for a time. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and above all, your laughter.”
Director and producer Paul Feig wrote on X: “I was so honored to call Diane Keaton a friend. She was an amazingly kind and creative person who also just happened to be a Hollywood legend,” he wrote. “She has been taken from us far too soon. We will miss you, Diane.”
Over the years, Keaton played a variety of characters, but her breakthrough performance was in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather as Michael Corleone’s lover and eventual wife, Kay Adams.
