David Harbour Faces Bullying Allegations From Millie Bobby Brown Ahead Of Final ‘Stranger Things’ Season
Onscreen, their relationship has always been tumultuous in Stranger Things, a popular Netflix series.
Actor David Harbour, however, was the subject of stunning allegations that he “bullied and harassed” co-star Millie Bobby Brown, according to The Mail on Sunday.
In the next fifth and final season of the show, Mr. Harbour, 50, plays former police chief Jim Hopper, who takes on Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven. Harbour is also accused of cheating on his estranged wife, singer-songwriter Lily Allen.
After the British actress reportedly complained about his behavior toward her, he reportedly faced an internal investigation.
While the outcome of the investigation is not known, The Mail on Sunday understands the allegations did not include claims of sexual impropriety. A source said, “Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”
Netflix refused to comment on any probe last night, but it is believed that Ms. Allen, whose new album brutally attacks Mr. Harbour for allegedly cheating on her several times, remained by her husband through the “brutal” process.
A source said, “Lily supported him throughout it all. It was a brutal time.”
While filming the final series, which will premiere in the US and the UK later this month and is sure to become one of Netflix’s most-watched series ever, Millie had a personal representative with her on site.

The streamer is so certain that the last season will be a huge success that it is releasing the finale in two parts. The second “drop” will be on Netflix over Christmas, and the final episode will be available on the streaming site and in theaters on December 31.
“It will be a theatrical event,” a Netflix source said last night. “Nothing is going to overshadow this, not even the leading man’s private life.”
The insider went on to say that it was “unfortunate” that Mr. Harbour’s personal problems were in the news at a time when fans of Stranger Things were anticipating a worldwide celebration to commemorate the conclusion of the ground-breaking program.
Since the series began airing in 2016, Millie has transformed from an unknown kid into a global superstar valued at an estimated $50 million (£38 million).
The show contributed to Netflix’s transformation from a video rental service to one of Hollywood’s largest studios.
The source said: “Netflix will never comment on an internal investigation, but the fact they’ve not denied it speaks volumes. Stranger Things helped put Netflix on the map. Millions of fans around the world have been anticipating the finale. No one wants anything to take attention away from that.”
This weekend, 40-year-old Ms. Allen is in Los Angeles to celebrate receiving the highest reviews of her career for her new album, West End Girl, which chronicles the treachery in her four-year marriage that ultimately caused it to collapse in December.
The Mail on Sunday disclosed last weekend that Natalie Tippett, a costume designer from New Orleans, is the author of the song “Madeline,” which was composed about a woman Mr. Harbour had an affair with and has actual text messages between his mistress and his wife.
Although she did not refute our narrative, Ms. Allen seemed to take a step back this week when she claimed that “Madeline” is a “composite” of other women that Mr. Harbour supposedly had affairs with.
A source said: “Lily went through a lot of pain in private. There were a lot of tears, a lot of angst. She created some of her best art out of that pain.”
“She’s in a great place now and not seeking revenge. She’s really happy and delighted with her fans’ response to the album.”
Given that Mr. Harbour was seen last weekend escorting Ms. Allen’s two young girls to a theme park in Florida, there have been hints that the accusations made against her spouse in the new album might be a “publicity stunt” to garner additional attention.
But another source said, “The pain Lily went through was real. She wants David to maintain a good relationship with the girls because they love him. He’s their stepfather and he loves them.”
“Lily was the product of a broken home so doesn’t want them to have the abandonment issues she had.”
On her award-winning podcast, Miss Me?, which she co-hosts with her best friend Miquita Oliver, Ms. Allen has frequently discussed her difficult upbringing.
When she was just four years old, her mother, film producer Alison Owen, was abandoned by her father, actor Keith Allen.
“She doesn’t want history to repeat itself,” the person continued.
The brownstone home owned by Ms. Allen and Mr. Harbour in New York is listed for $8 million (£6 million).
The property is in a trust named after her two daughters, according to publicly accessible paperwork.
Multiple attempts for response were not answered last night by Millie’s representatives. Millie and her husband, American model and actor Jake Bongiovi, currently operate an animal rescue center in Georgia, in the United States.
The Duffer Brothers, the multimillionaire twins Matt and Ross Duffer who produced Stranger Things based on the 1980s sci-fi series they grew up on, and Mr. Harbour’s reps were also contacted, but they have not replied.
