Off The Record
Concerns Grow As Ashley St. Clair, Mother Of Elon Musk’s Child, Remains Absent from Social Media For Over A Month
For more than a month, the most recent lady to give birth to a child with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has been missing from X. Netizens are worried about her disappearance; one even speculated that Musk might be involved.
Social media users expressed their concerns about Ashley St. Clair’s extended absence from the platform on X this week. She last posted a picture of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, on February 16, 2025.
Zelenskyy was seated with his pen in front of the camera in the picture. Commenting on the political element, St. Clair wrote, “can u believe the nerve of this gold digger. [sic]” as the caption for the photo. She identified herself as a filmmaker and author on her X account. When she just disclosed that she supposedly gave birth to Musk’s child, she attracted international attention.
Resharing her last post, one netizen commented, “I don’t want to alarm anyone but [sic] she literally hasn’t posted anything since this.” Another person, sharing a screenshot of her X profile along with her pinned and last post, questioned, “Is Ashley St Clair dead or put in a bunker somewhere? Dead air for over a month.”
Echoing similar concerns, someone else pointed out, “It’s been a whole month since Ashley St. Clair’s last timeline post. Have we lost her?” Another speculated, “Elon made Ashley st [sic] Clair disappear.”
Tagging St. Clair, a concerned netizen asked, “What ever happened to Ashley St.Clair. She use to post about 50 time a day and now hasn’t posted in month. Her last post was a month ago accusing zelensky being a gold digger. [sic],” while another wondered the same thing.
One individual shared a photo of the author and inquired about her whereabouts. Another internet user posted a video this month during a meal at Mar-a-Lago with President Donald J. Trump, showing Musk strolling with Shivon Zilis, the mother of his four children.
The person urged someone to check on St. Clair. Expressing concern, another X user questioned, “Are we gonna talk about how Ashley St. Clair’s stunt royally backfired and she’s been MIA for over a month?”
St. Clair first announced the birth of her child on X in a Valentine’s Day statement. In the caption, she wrote the Latin phrase “Alea iacta est,” which translates to “The die is cast.” The phrase is a variant of a quotation from January 10, 49 BC, that Suetonius ascribed to Julius Caesar.
Her statement read, “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.”
St. Clair continued, “I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”
She got so many comments that she came back the next day to thank them for their lovely words. The author stated that she hoped she hadn’t had to make a comment in the first place since she thought journalists shouldn’t be allowed to discuss such topics.
St. Clair did disclose that she will be logging off X for a while in order to spend some time with her family. To make the post visible to everyone, she pinned it to her account.

The 26-year-old has sued Musk, 53, for sole custody of her child since announcing the child’s birth. She stated in her petition that since the child’s birth in September 2024, the Tesla CEO had only seen him three times. The youngster was only known as R.S.C.
On February 25, her representative, Brian Glicklich, explained why St. Clair had taken legal action. He stated, “This has never been about money for Ashley.” He continued, “This is about protecting the best interests of Ashley and Elon’s child from a man who can’t be counted on to even communicate, much less act consistently in the role of a father.”
Additionally, Glicklich claimed that the CEO of SpaceX spends more time talking about his children’s moms on X, his social networking platform, than interacting with them. The statement further stated, “We tried to handle this collaboratively with Mr. Musk, but it takes both a father and a mother to do that, and he refused all conversations.”
Aside from her latest disclosure, St. Clair has also become well-known for her children’s book writing, according to earlier reports. “Elephants Are Not Birds,” her best-known book, was written in collaboration with BRAVE Books. The narrative offers young readers a conservative point of view while delving into identity-related topics.
In addition to her writing, her recent disclosure adds a new dimension to Elon’s family’s story, which has been developing for over 20 years.
Elon has fathered numerous children through several partnerships over the years, and while some parts of his family life have received widespread media attention, others have remained mainly private.
He met Justine Wilson while attending Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, and that’s how his journey to fatherhood started. Their bond grew rapidly, and in 2000, following the sale of his first business, Zip2, they became engaged and married.
Two years later, the couple had Nevada Alexander Musk, their first child. But tragedy struck when Nevada suddenly developed a breathing problem and died at the age of 10 weeks.
The oxygen deprivation had caused lasting brain damage, even though paramedics were able to revive him. Justine held him in his last moments while Elon and Justine made the painful decision to let him go after three days on life support.
Through IVF, the couple continued to expand their family, first welcoming triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian in 2006, and then twins Griffin and Xavier in 2004.
But the demands of the billionaire’s career also put more strain on his marriage, which finally resulted in a divorce in 2008. They decided to share custody of their five children even though they were divorcing.
Their child, Xavier, changed his gender and legal name to Vivian Jenna Wilson in 2022. Vivian stated in court filings, “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”
She has hundreds of thousands of followers on her TikTok account, where she occasionally posts peeks of her life.
Elon’s family expanded once more during his relationship with Canadian musician Claire Boucher, better known by her stage name Grimes. They welcomed their son, X AE A-XII, also known as “X,” in May 2020.
Grimes has discussed X’s early interest in technology. She described how he once had a “three-day meltdown” after witnessing a failed SpaceX rocket test and grew irate when the design of his toy rocket did not match the real one.
Through surrogacy, Elon and Grimes had a daughter, Exa Dark Siderael, also known as “Y,” in December 2021. Her surprise public debut occurred during Grimes’ Vanity Fair interview, when she was overheard sobbing in the background.
According to Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon, their third kid, Techno Mechanicus, sometimes known as “Tau,” was unveiled in 2023. But there are still a few details available regarding Tau.
The South African native added Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis to his family over the same time frame. The couple gave birth to twins in secret in 2021; their birth was only made public after court records pertaining to a request to give the twins Shivon’s last name and Elon’s last name as part of their middle names came to light.
Only a few weeks had passed since the twins’ birth when Exa and their father subsequently verified their existence. Elon and Shivon had a third kid in early 2024, increasing his known number to twelve.
Elon said he wants to have “as many as” he’s able to spend time with and be a good father, citing his worries about dropping birth rates in response to a question about his expanding family.
He acknowledged the challenges of connecting with his older children, especially as they grow more independent, “My eldest are off to college, and teenagers don’t want to spend much time with their parents. I wish they would (sigh).”
Elon Musk’s family is now growing with the arrival of a 13th child, according to Ashley. He frequently takes X to business meetings and supports his kids’ interest in technology and space research since he is dedicated to integrating his kids in his world despite his hectic work life.
According to earlier reports, St. Clair is not the only mother of Musk’s children who has experienced problems with him recently. Following the singer’s appeal to the owner of the social media site X for the welfare of one of their three children, Grimes and Musk made headlines.
In now-deleted tweets on X on February 20, 2025, Grimes claimed that her ex-boyfriend and the father of her three children had ignored her calls because of a “medical crisis.”
The “Genesis” singer reportedly wrote, “I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention. If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can do that [so] we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.”
She further explained, “I’m not giving any details, but he won’t respond to texts calls or emails and has skipped every meeting, and our child will suffer lifelong impairment if he doesn’t respond asap, so I need him to [expletive] respond, and if I have to apply public pressure, then I guess that’s where we are at. [sic]”
The Canadian singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, did not say which of her kids needed help. The 36-year-old and Elon Musk have a daughter, Exa Dark Siderael, who is three years old, and two sons, X Γ A-Xii, who is four, and Techno Mechanicus, who is two.
The plea was later removed, but the 53-year-old CEO of SpaceX did not reply. Grimes has since published several posts on X. When they couldn’t view her earlier posts, several X users were perplexed and thought her account had been shadowbanned.
Others were perplexed as to why she didn’t leave any comments on Elon’s platform. Grimes clarified the next day that she was removing her posts “because if they’re being shadow banned and not eliciting a response then all it is is a media circus at the expense of the kids.”
The performer and businessman, who dated from 2018 to 2022, had previously had disagreements. On February 11, 2025, Elon brought X Γ A-Xii with him to the Oval Office, where they joined President Donald Trump for a media conference to highlight the newly founded Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
For the press briefing, Elon wore a long black coat over a dark dress, complementing with a matching “Make America Great Again” cap. X Γ A-Xii was dressed in a beige overcoat with a navy blue ensemble underneath and wore a gold chain as he stood boldly behind his father.
The young boy appeared to entertain both Elon and Donald, who was seated at the Resolute Desk in a dark suit and blue tie. An X user who reacted to Elon’s son’s presence at the event wrote, “Lil X was very polite today! You raised him well. He was so cute when he told DJT ‘please [sic] forgive me, I need to pee.’π₯°.”
After seeing the post, the boy’s mother disclosed that she had no idea her ex would be going public with their child. In response, she wrote a message about it on X that is now widely discussed.
Grimes said, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u [sic] for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
Social media users swiftly offered their opinions after seeing her tweet.
One supporter wrote, “No, he shouldn’t be. You need to get tough, girl. He’s your baby, not Elon’s pet,” while another noted, “Every time I see him, I wish he was with you, and his siblings. He has a great spirit. But I am worried for his influences and safety.”
Someone else remarked, “Is there anything you can do? It is quite disturbing that he uses X in that way. Trump seems to be getting annoyed too; it’s not good for the kid to be in the middle of all this chaos.”
More people sided with Grimes as another netizen declared, “She’s right!” Taking to Facebook, someone reiterated, “She’s absolutely right, he’s a child, not a prop!!” Sharing the same sentiments, a commenter stated, “I’m actually with her on this one lol.”
Praising Grimes’ efforts to protect her child’s privacy, a supporter commended, “Yes, mommy, take control of your baby!” At the same time, an unsurprised social media user shared, “Was expecting something like this!” Someone else defended the artist, writing, “She’s protecting her child. The child doesn’t need to be made a part of the spectacle that’s going on!”
Since their breakup, Grimes has avoided contact with Elon. In 2020, she and the Tesla CEO welcomed X, and Elon posted a picture of himself holding the baby in a hospital blanket.
