Comedian Tony Knight, 54, Dies From A Falling Tree Branch

Both the French newspaper Le Tarn Libre and the GoFundMe website started by Tony Knight’s partner’s sister report that the comedian and “Dog Listener” from Britain passed away in an accident at the age of 54.

On June 7, Knight and other attendees at the Rock & Cars Festival in Lavaur, France, suffered injuries from two sizable tree branches. According to reports, four additional people were hurt but made it out alive.

According to the fundraiser, Knight “was only 54 and having the time of his life. He was fit, healthy, happy, and had everything going for him. He was charismatic, funny, passionate, and so very loved by [his partner] Hayley, his family, and his friends all over the world.” He was just a few days into his annual vacation to France.

Donations of $8,501 had been made as of July 5 to cover Knight’s burial expenses, hospital expenses, and estate settlement costs. According to the author, Knight’s status as “an Englishman with Australian residency living in France” has complicated the matter.

The author, Jo, said that her sister Hayley had dated Knight for fifteen years. She wrote of him with affection. She stated that “he loved comedy and had performed his show Mad Dogs and an Englishman at all sorts of venues both in Australia and overseas.”

He was going to tour the United Kingdom with his act and conduct dog training seminars throughout Europe.

“His passion was dogs, and he helped people all over the world with his classes, both in person, online, on radio and television, ebooks, and more,” Jo said. “He was very well respected and admired. His method worked, and he loved helping people with their dogs.”
