Cher Madly In Love With Alexander Edwards, Music Producer 40 Years Younger Than Her
Richard “AE” Edwards is someone you ought to know.
When the music executive was initially photographed in November 2022 holding hands with Cher, it made headlines.
The music icon was criticized for the 40-year age difference in the days that followed. However, in typical Cher fashion, she took to Twitter to comment, seemingly unfazed by the age gap.
The “Believe” star’s connection with Edwards was confirmed in one of her Twitter tweets, where she simply wrote, “Alexander ❤️.” She replied with a “🥰” emoji when someone inquired if he was her “new man,” and she simply stated, “Love doesn’t know math.” to another Twitter user.

While making an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in December 2022, Cher once again brought up her boyfriend.
The singer admitted that their relationship was “ridiculous” when put on paper. “But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.”
Edwards has dated famous people and been in the spotlight before.
A three-year relationship with Amber Rose ended in August 2021, with Rose seemingly accusing Edwards of having an affair with twelve separate women. They share a son together.

Edwards has also worked as a musician and producer, contributing to rapper Tyga’s indie label, Last Kings Records. Their bond is strong; he and the hip-hop musician frequently appear in each other’s images and are seen out and about in Los Angeles together.
He is the father of a child with Amber Rose, his ex-girlfriend.
In October 2019, Edwards and Amber Rose became parents for the first time. Despite the couple’s 2021 separation due to infidelity, they were careful to give their child a musical name: Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.

He met Cher during Paris Fashion Week
In September of 2022, during Paris Fashion Week, Edwards and Cher first crossed paths.
Tyga, who is friends with Edwards, posed for photos with the Grammy winner, but the two weren’t actually shot together.
Edwards and Cher were a full-fledged couple in September 2023 when they attended PFW. At Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2024 women’s fashion show, the two were sitting in the front row.
He’s 40 years younger than Cher
The Grammy winner is unconcerned by the age gap between Cher (77) and Edwards (37). Cher tweeted the following before deleting it: “LOVE DOESN’T KNOW MATH, IT SEES ❤️ ❤️,” which The Shade Room was able to catch.
In the 1980s, Cher dated men younger than her, such as Rob Camilletti, Tom Cruise, and Val Kilmer.
“The truth was if I hadn’t gone out with younger men, I would have never had a date,” Cher told PEOPLE in 2021. “Younger men weren’t intimidated by older women. But older men in my age category, they weren’t having it.”
Cher told PEOPLE in October 2023 that she found love in her 70s.
“What I learned is that it’s never too late,” she said. “If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, ‘Well, this is doomed.’ But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time.”
Cher continued, “He’s special. No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun.”
He bought Cher an engagement-like ring
After Edwards gave Cher a huge diamond ring for Christmas, speculation started to circulate that they were engaged.
“THERE R NO WORDS,” the singer of “Believe” tweeted alongside a photo of the ring.
While Cher did pose for a photo with Edwards on New Year’s Eve, she did not have the diamond ring on her finger.
According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE in February 2023, the pair “aren’t talking marriage” at this time.
“They are very much in love. They are exclusive and serious,” the source added. “Cher likes that he’s young. It’s exciting for her.”
With his support, Cher was able to get over her mother’s death.
The 96-year-old Cher’s mom passed away in December 2022. Subsequently, a source in the music industry informed PEOPLE that Cher’s romance with Edwards “has helped ease the pain of the loss.”
The insider added their two cents on the “Strong Enough” singer’s engagement ring that Edwards gave her for Christmas, describing it as a “nice and beautiful gift.”
A second insider said: “The ring was the perfect present to help her get through this bittersweet time.”
He collaborated with Cher on a song.
Released in October 2023, Christmas was Edwards’s first holiday album; she collaborated with Cher on it.
“He’s a producer and a writer. He does everything, so I’m happy about that,” she told E! News.
Over messaging, Cher fell head over heels for him.
Cher discussed her initial text exchange with Edwards during her Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg.
“I left to go to Switzerland, and he texted me. He said, ‘Where are you going?’ I said, ‘I’m going to Switzerland, I’m a little tired.’ And then he wrote me, ‘Well, get some rest babyyy.’ And I went, he doesn’t know me well enough to put three y’s on baby,” the “Believe” singer said. “I was kind of pissed off. And then he just started texting me.”

She continued, “I told my friends, don’t fall in love with a younger man, we’re too old, and don’t ever fall in love by text. There goes that theory.”
