BREAKING News From The Buckingham Palace Today On King Charles

Shocking news from Buckingham Palace today: King Charles, who is 75 years old, has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun treatment today.

The Palace did not say what kind of cancer Charles has or what stage it was found in. The discovery was made public after the monarch had a normal procedure for an enlarged prostate. However, the BBC says it is not prostate cancer.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” a statement from Buckingham Palace reads.

The statement said that Charles would have to take time off from public tasks to get treatment, but it also seemed positive about his outlook.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.”

“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”

“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”

The last time the BBC saw Charles was at a church service in Sandringham on Sunday, waving to people.

Following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, Charles III became King of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries.

Charles was the oldest person to take the British throne. He was also the prince and Prince of Wales for the longest time, until he became king. On May 6, he was crowned king.

Kate, Princess of Wales, is still getting better after having surgery on her abdomen. NBC News says that Prince William will continue with his royal tasks and attend the London Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner on Wednesday.

This is breaking news, and we will keep you up to date on the King’s health as we hear more from Buckingham Palace. Hope he gets better quickly and completely. Our thoughts are with him and the royal family.
