Brave Girl’s Six-Word Question Foils Alleged Abduction Attempt

In order to avoid a drunken man who had approached her and made offensive comments, a quick-witted youngster cooked up a story about two onlookers being related to her.

On Tuesday, the unidentified adolescent was strolling along the 2100 block of MacDade Boulevard in the Holmes neighborhood of Ridley Township, Pennsylvania.

She was then approached by a man who was clutching a liquor bottle, who said to her: “Are you afraid?”

Tina and Bill Moss, proprietors of a nearby health and wellness store, had been observing the exchange when the teenager abruptly shouted out for them as though they were her family.

She looked over and said, “Hey is that my aunt Rachel? And I said yes’, Bill Moss recalled to ABC13. “

Tina was actually Aunt Rachel, and the couple swiftly escorted her inside the store for protection.

Moss added, “He followed her directly from the store to the window and banged on the glass. We locked the doors, called the police.”

The entire interaction was captured by their security cameras, showing the man approaching the young girl.

The young girl’s mom Christina Pino told ABC: ‘The first thing that he said to her was, “are you afraid?”, before making inappropriate and sexual comments to her.

Pino continued: She just thought, “I had to get out of the situation quick”, and so she said, “Aunt Rachel! Aunt Rachel!”

“I just think people in Ridley Township need to be more aware of the people that are walking along MacDade Boulevard.”

Since then, she has gone to see Tina and Bill, giving them hugs and expressing gratitude for saving her daughter.

The pair expressed their wish that someone would do the same for their own kids to the outlet.

Bill added, “We’re just normal people. We’re parents, we just own a store in our town. So we want to make sure our town is safe and we’re here for you.”

The man’s identity has not been made public, according to Ridley Township, which claims he was arrested and charged with making inappropriate verbal contact with a youngster.

In addition, Pino told the outlet that she hopes the man receives assistance and that her daughter’s experience would encourage parents to have more conversations with their kids about stranger danger.
