Beloved Spider-Man Actor Tragically Dies—Fans Mourn Worldwide
A Spider-Man actor passed away unexpectedly.
The 2002 superhero tale centres on a timid adolescent who, after being bitten by a genetically altered spider, acquires spider-like skills that he uses to combat injustice.
The news of the death of one of the film’s stars has devastated fans.
One says, “May his soul rest in peace and paradise.”
As another writes, “What a proud age to pass. A life well lived.”
Actor Jack Betts, who was born in New Jersey and played Henry Balkan in Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man, passed away on June 19 at the age of 96.

The celebrity, who also appeared in Friends, was born in 1929 in Miami and attended the state university.
After earning his theatre degree, he made his stage debut in Broadway’s rendition of Shakespeare’s Richard III, Far Out, and went on to have a multi-decade playing career.
He shared a home with Doris Roberts, star of Everybody Loves Raymond, with whom he was close. He passed away in his sleep at his Los Osos, California, home.
The 96-year-old said the two were “best friends to the very end” and that they enjoyed “wonderful times together” after Roberts passed away in 2016.
Despite rumors that the two were an item, an Everybody Loves Raymond fan account clarified the reality of their relationship, posting on Instagram: “He was not Doris Robert’s husband as has been reported elsewhere.”
However, the actor went on to star in other blockbusters than Spider-Man, which at the time of its debut brought in a total of $821.7 million globally.
In addition, the 96-year-old starred in several spaghetti westerns, a subgenre of westerns made in the 1960s and 1970s, such as 1966’s Sugar Coat.
On Thursday, June 19, Betts’ nephew Dean Sullivan delivered the heartbreaking news.
Beverly Hills Playhouse, a local acting school, issued a poignant statement when the announcement was made public.
They said: “Our beloved Jack Betts passed away peacefully at home.”
“It is a sad day for the BHP as we have enjoyed his presence for so many years.”
“There are actors who credit him with not giving up because of his encouragement.”
“We were so fortunate to have enjoyed his great spirit, passion and true dedication to the work.”
According to the group, his life made the theatre “richer” and there would only ever be “one of him.”
In the Friends episode “The One with Joey’s New Brain,” Betts played the role of Tom.
Additionally, he played iconic parts in Batman & Robin and Batman Forever.
