Anthony Hopkins Channels Hannibal Lecter In Bizarre Skims Face Wrap Parody
Recently, Sir Anthony Hopkins joined the online crowd in mocking Kim Kardashian’s most recent offering, the $48 “sculpting mask” SKIMS.
When the actor put on the face wrap and instantly changed into his most famous character, Hannibal Lecter, his Instagram post went viral.
“Hello Kim, I’m already feeling 10 years younger. Goodbye,” he said in the character’s voice, before letting out a slurp straight from The Silence of the Lambs.
“Thank you, Kim. Don’t be afraid to come over for dinner.”

After netizens compared Kim Kardashian’s latest product to Hannibal Lecter, Anthony Hopkins himself hopped on Instagram to make the meme a reality
Launched this week in two hues (cocoa and clay), the SKIMS Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap is being promoted as a beauty invention that tightens and lifts the neck and jaw.
SKIMS claims that the device supports “targeted facial sculpting” as part of a nighttime regimen by using a distinctive compressive fabric infused with “collagen yarns” and adjustable Velcro closures.
Surgeons and dermatologists, however, who have weighed in, don’t believe the hoopla.
The wrap is basically nothing more than a soft compression garment.
There is no proof that wearing one at home on a casual basis has any long-term effects, even though comparable devices are used to help with lymphatic drainage and reduce oedema after surgery.
It has also been questioned if collagen yarns actually increase the amount of collagen in users’ skin.
“It’s really not going to make any long-term structural changes of any kind,” Dr. Anil Shah, a facial plastic surgeon based in New York and Chicago, explained to the New York Post.
According to Shah, the improvements people anticipate from the face wrap are ones that can only be accomplished by tightening the muscles and skin and distributing fat, which the product just cannot do.
“Don’t waste your money on this one,” he said. “I understand how shapewear can make you look good with clothes on, but sleeping with this is not going to have any effect.”
Beauty experts have called SKIMS claims into question, with most warning people to not “waste their money” on it

Despite criticism that the wrap looked more like something from a hostage situation than a beauty regimen, the product surprised her critics by selling out on the SKIMS website within 24 hours of its launch.
“There’s a 16-year-old girl out there thinking she needs to buy this cr*p,” one user said.
“SKIMS—making women feel bad about themselves since 2018,” another wrote.
The product is a “must-have addition to women’s nightly routine,” according to the manufacturer, but the reality TV personality added that the wrap is a “must-have.”
“It snatches your little chinny chin chin. It’s super comfortable to wear at night or just around the house,” she said on social media.
Despite influencers and experts publicly criticizing it, the product sold out in just 24 hours

Akash Chandawarkar and other surgeons took a different tack. assuming that ladies who enjoy plastic surgery are the product’s primary target market.
“It seems perfect for after facelift, necklift, or submental lipo,” he said.
However, well-known beauty influencers claim that the SKIMS face wrap reflects a deeper—and more concerning—aspect of the direction the beauty industry is headed.
It was summarised on TikTok by creator Jamie Janejira, who is well-known for her criticism of cosmetic surgery trends.
“What if your face doesn’t need to be snatched and lifted? What if there are infinite numbers of types of beauty? What makes us beautiful is that we don’t all look the same.”
