Amid Michael Oher’s Lawsuit, Fans Are Now Requesting Sandra Bullock To Hand Over The Oscar For “The Blind Side”

Sandra Bullock portrayed Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side more than ten years ago, but the film is again haunting her.

In response to Michael Oher’s allegations against the family he says never truly adopted him, supporters are calling for Sandra to give back the Oscar she received for the film.

Earlier this week, Michael accused the Tuohy family of lying to make money from his story.

Michael stated in Tennessee court filings that the Tuohy family never really adopted him in the manner they claimed; in fact, he says he only learned recently that they had placed him under a conservatorship, which gave them the legal right to negotiate on his behalf.

Michael is now trying to end this conservatorship, claiming that while the Tuohys made money from The Blind Side, he had granted 20th Century Fox the rights to his life story “without any payment whatsoever”.

Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for her role in ‘The Blind Side.’

Sandra portrayed Leigh Anne Tuohy, the motherly figure in Michael’s life, in the film. Her performance in the film earned her the 2010 Academy Award for Best Actress, a fact that some people find offensive in light of Michael’s tragedy.

Some are calling for Sandra to return her Oscar.

Many individuals have rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, after learning of Michael’s case, stating that Sandra ought to return the prize she was given for that job.

“I think Leigh Anne Tuohy needs to be in jail, and Sandra Bullock needs to give that Oscar back cause that whole movie was just more white savior BS anyhow,” a single individual wrote.

Another tweet read, “So Sandra Bullock should have to give back her Oscar, right, and man, do we need to start checking these good feeling stories. The parents blocked $300 in earnings from him getting any of it and gave the money to their real children? WOOOOOOOW!”

Others are drawing attention to the fact that Sandra was unrelated to the true story that inspired the film.

Another individual brought up the fact that Sandra has recently experienced a great deal, having lost her longtime companion Bryan Randall to ALS and having cared for him during his final months.

“Sandra Bullock has proven time and again how good she is, and she just lost her partner to ALS. She didn’t do anything other than play a role with information about the subjects that are now grossly different,” shared one tweet.

Her costar is already speaking out in her defense.

Michael’s actor Quinton Aaron has already come out in favor of Sandra, telling the New York Post that he was “shocked” by the most recent events.

“Sandra did nothing wrong. That’s my girl, and she is going through a really tough time right now. I really feel like they should leave her alone and stop trying to come at her,” he said. “Stop trying to come for Sandra because you’re going to make me mad, and they are going to have to come through me!”
