After Elon Musk Welcomed His 12th Child, People Keep Saying The Same Thing
Earlier this year, Elon Musk, the 52-year-old tech entrepreneur and founder of Tesla, unexpectedly welcomed a new family member.
The mother of the child is Shivon Zilis, the director of special projects at Musk’s other company, Neuralink Corp.
A private family life
Musk and his associates have consistently made an effort to keep their kids’ lives private.
This strategy was highlighted in September 2023 when Musk’s mother, Claire Boucher, now known as Grimes, requested privacy for herself and her three children on X, formerly Twitter.
She responded to the media hysteria around her co-parenting arrangement with Musk in a lengthy article.
They recently revealed that their third child, a son named Techno Mechanicus, was born not long after Musk’s children with Zilis.
Musk’s expanding family
With the birth of his first son, Nevada Alexander, in 2002, Elon Musk’s journey into fatherhood officially began with his first wife, Justine Wilson.
Sadly, Nevada died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at the age of 10 weeks.
IVF was used to create Wilson and Musk’s twins, Vivian Jenna and Griffin, in 2004 and their triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, in 2006.
Musk and Grimes welcomed X Æ A-Xii, a son, as their first child together in May 2020. Exa Dark Siderael, the couple’s surrogate daughter, was born in December 2021.
Musk welcomed the twins Azure and Strider with Shivon Zilis in secret in November 2021, at the same time.
Following the publication of journalist Walter Isaacson’s 2023 book on Musk, which revealed the birth of Musk and Grimes’ third kid, a son named Techno Mechanicus, who also goes by “Tau,” comes the news of Musk’s most recent child.
Musk confirmed the birth of his latest child with Shivon Zilis, dismissing any notions of secrecy. “As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false,” he stated. “All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret,’” he added.
Despite this clarification, the sex and name of Musk’s youngest child remain undisclosed, highlighting the couple’s commitment to privacy.

Those who follow Elon Musk’s life online were taken aback to learn that he had given birth to his 12th child. A recurring analogy that frequently surfaced in online comment sections was the likeness to Nick Cannon’s large family. In addition, Cannon is renowned for having a large family, which includes twins with Mariah Carey.
“Nick Cannon and Elon single-handedly repopulating the earth,” joked one Instagram user. “Elon and Nick Cannon competing?” and “Nick, you got 24 hours to respond!” were some other visible comments.
