A Teenager Lost Her Life After Dropping Her Phone In The Bathtub While Talking To A Friend
A 16-year-old girl tragically died after dropping her phone in the bathtub while on a call with a friend.
Even in our most private moments, our smartphones are practically necessary in today’s digital world. But many people are unaware of how hazardous this behavior may be.
Maria Antonietta Cutillo, an Italian teen, died tragically, and her story serves as a frightening reminder of the risks associated with this seemingly innocent practice.
Tragic events occurred when Cutillo, an Italian resident of Avellino, was taking what should have been a peaceful bath.
According to reports, the adolescent was gripping her phone as it was charging in her parents’ bathroom.
It’s thought the gadget fell out of the teen’s fingers and into the water, whereupon it caused a short circuit.
According to local media, Cutillo’s family was not there in the home when the tragedy occurred.
When their call ended, the buddy of the adolescent apparently became worried and dialed 911 to the house.
Cutillo’s body was brought to the Moscati Hospital’s morgue in Avellino so that an autopsy could be performed. The local police also looked into the incident.
According to insiders, the girl’s father is well-known in the nearby city of Irpinia because he has a butcher shop there, MailOnline claims.
The friend Cutillo was speaking with at the time of the tragedy has posted a touching memorial on TikTok.
She says (via Daily Express): “You flew to heaven, my love, you left screaming my name during a video call. I will never ever forget that moment.”
“The last call, the last laugh together, the last nonsense together was today, my baby and while you were talking to me, this happened.”
“I have your voice echoing in my head as you screamed my name, I have the scene in front of my eyes, I have your big green eyes in front of me; I have your laugh in mind.”
“You were a spectacular friend; now the school desk next to me will be empty, and whoever gets in will never, ever be you.”
“I miss you, my heart, I have your image fixed in front of my eyes.”
Even though mobile phone electrocution is uncommon, it does happen occasionally. In certain cases, people have died as a result of their gadget shorting out.
According to The Mirror, Wanchai Deengam, a 27-year-old Thai man, passed away in 2023 after dozing off while his phone was charging.
Two rice cookers and two fans were connected to the wall socket, and a smartwatch was put into the extension connection, according to the outlet.
After the incident, the Rat Burana Metropolitan Police Station’s Police Captain Jiratchaya Yordkum stated that they thought a “short circuit might have caused his electrocution.”
The 27-year-old plugged the device into the socket without the proper adaptor.
Additionally, according to Daily Mail, a French schoolgirl perished in her bathtub in 2020 as a result of a charging phone that fell on her chest and into the water.
