A 7-Year-Old Boy Who Posed For Cute Pictures In A Pile Of Dust Was Poisoned And Died Moments Later

A young Brazilian youngster was playing joyfully one minute, and then something terrible happened.

Things went wrong when seven-year-old Arthur Emanuel Bitencourt was playing in a mound of powdered limestone. On August 3, his relatives took a picture of the boy.

He was grinning broadly and giving the thumbs up. That was Arthur’s final picture taken.

The youngster died as a result of breathing in the poisonous limestone powder after discovering that the pile contained it.

He was declared dead at the hospital after his family hurried him there. In an effort to avert a similar catastrophe, his family posted warnings on social media about the risks associated with limestone.

Limestone is used in construction and in agriculture.

According to the New York Post, Arthur used his family’s land in Ipiranga, Paraná, in the South Region of Brazil, as a playground.

According to Fox News, he was knee-deep in the powder, but his family was unaware of the risk that comes with limestone. The Technological Research Institute of Brazil claims that limestone, especially when powdered, has a significant carcinogenic risk.

Arthur inhaled the powder, which poisoned him.

The research institute underlined that the utmost caution must be used when handling limestone powder. According to Fox News, individuals who fall into this category ought to put on safety goggles and act right away if they swallow the powder. If someone inhales the dust, they should get medical help right away and start using “artificial respiration or oxygen” as soon as feasible.

The boy’s family was reportedly shocked by his death.

Romaldo Bitencourt, Arthur’s uncle, honored his nephew on Facebook. The devastated uncle posted a message in Portuguese on August 4th, saying, “Arthur, my dear nephew, we will love you forever and a day, we will meet again to receive, that hug only you knew how to give 👼.”

He shared a second post on Tuesday thanking everyone for their prayers.

Arthurzinho shown early discernment in a variety of areas and his own viewpoint, demonstrating his high level of intelligence and his potential to be a good guy. The uncle stated, “Secondly, we would like to thank everyone who has supported our family during this trying time that we never thought we would go through. Rest assured, God has comforted us through the hugs, condolences, crowns, and flowers that we have received from each of you.” “Hundreds of relatives and friends said goodbye to the loved one and thousands of people protested through Social Networks, which is humanly impossible, to thank individually.”

Numerous news sources claim that Arthur’s family was unaware of the risks associated with limestone poisoning.

Doctors treat hundreds of children in the United States daily affected by poisoning.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every day 374 children between the ages of 0 and 19 visit emergency rooms to receive treatment for poisoning.

Two of them pass away every day on average. The CDC also warns parents that poisoning is preventable, despite the fact that it can have disastrous consequences.

First and foremost, parents are urged to lock up and keep hazardous goods and medications out of the reach of their kids.

Second, parents ought to be aware of and put the nationwide Poison Control number, 1-800-222-1222, into their phones.

The company is open seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In the event that their child collapses or stops breathing, parents should always dial 911.

“Read the label. Follow label directions and read all warnings when giving medicines to children. Don’t keep it if you don’t need it,” the CDC advises. “Safely dispose of unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs. Be aware that if you dispose of unused medicines, they can be mixed with coffee grounds or kitty litter to make them less appealing to children.”
