She left.

I sat in the conference room alone for a few minutes after that. The presentation was still up on the screen — my name in the origination field of a client file from eleven years ago, the metadata quiet and indifferent, just a timestamp doing its job.

The company was still there. The work was still there. Fifteen years of it, documented, attributed, real.
