Woman Wakes Up Inside Coffin Moments Before Cremation

On her way to be cremated, a woman woke up alive in a casket, shocking her loved ones.

On November 23, the family of Chonthirot, a 65-year-old grandmother in Phitsanulok, northern Thailand, believed she had ceased breathing.

According to her 57-year-old younger brother Mongkol, they tragically decided to transfer her body to a funeral parlour because they believed she had died in her sleep at around two in the morning local time.

Chonthirot allegedly woke up inside the casket she was placed in during the four-hour drive to a cremation and funeral services facility in Bangkok.

She began knocking on the wood when the pick-up truck pulled up to the temple, according to family members.

She can be seen moving around in the box on camera while her family looks on in shock.

According to Mongkol, she spent two years in bed and even signed documents attesting to her demise.

“I was shocked, surprised, and happy that my sister was still alive. I nearly collapsed from surprise. It’s a miracle that she woke up,” he said.

Thammanoon, a 27-year-old temple employee assigned to carry her into the hall for a brief ceremony, claimed to have heard a faint scream for assistance coming from within.

The 27-year-old said: “I peeled back the cloth covering her and froze when I saw she was still moving.”

“She was conscious, breathing weakly, and nodding her head, but she was unable to speak.”

“I was stunned because I’d never experienced anything like this before.”

When it became apparent that Chonthirot was still alive, the Wat Rat Prakhong Tham temple promised to pay for her medical bills. Soon after, an ambulance showed up to transport her to Bang Yai Hospital.

Although he acknowledged that he had never seen such an incidence in his years as a temple abbot, Phra Kitti Wachirathada expressed his happiness for the family because they were able to spend more time with her.

Similarly, an 85-year-old granny in northeastern Thailand ‘came back to life’ after 40 minutes of death.

It is said that Pua Sriphueng was discovered at her Buriram provincial residence without a pulse.

However, it was said that she sat up with her eyes wide open while her family prepared for the funeral.

Amazingly, family members said that she began acting like her usual self and even participated in the religious rites that she had previously avoided.
