Father Of Florida Teen Anna Kepner, Who Died On Carnival Cruise, Breaks His Silence
A Florida youngster died, and a distraught father is now holding on to memories while detectives look for the truth. What started out as a happy family vacation on a luxury cruise ship turned into an unexpected tragedy.
After a Florida kid died on a lavish Carnival cruise, her ideal vacation became a terrible nightmare. In the wake of the unexplained tragedy, her distraught father is now coming out and calling for explanations.
Officials announced that Florida high school student Anna Kepner passed away unexpectedly over the weekend on aboard the Carnival Horizon. Anna died on November 7, 2025, and was born on June 13, 2007.
As news of the young girl’s premature death spread, the ship arrived to PortMiami on November 8, 2025, surrounded by shock and sadness.
Grieving Father Breaks His Silence Amid Ongoing FBI Probe
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail, Anna’s father, Christopher Kepner, revealed the anguish his family has endured since the tragedy unfolded — and the troubling silence that followed. “I have no idea what is going on right now,” the devastated father admitted. “We are just trying to sit still and wait for answers.”
According to Kepner, a crane operator from Titusville, Florida, the accident occurred when he and his family, which included Anna’s stepmother, stepsiblings, and two younger children, were on vacation. Following Anna’s passing, the group as a whole, along with other passengers, were taken into custody for interrogation by authorities and then offloaded from the ship.
The FBI Hasn’t Shared Anything With the Family
The FBI, not local law enforcement, is in charge of the inquiry because the Carnival Horizon was cruising between Cozumel and Miami at the time of the incident. The silence, however, has been deafening for Christopher.
“The FBI hasn’t shared anything with me yet,” he stated. “I would imagine they’re going to be in contact with me about it, but I know as little as everybody else.”
Although the cause of Anna’s death has not been made public, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner reports that she was declared dead on board at 11:17 a.m.
Her Stepmother’s Heartbreaking Tribute Online
Shauntel Kepner, Anna’s stepmother, took to Facebook as word of her passing spread, posting an honest and heartfelt letter that no parent could ever hope to write.
“This is something I never imagined I’d have to post,” she partly wrote, alongside a post from the North Brevard Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Bright Future Cut Short
In a separate statement to ABC News, Anna’s family remembered her as a “happy, bubbly, straight-A student” whose potential was boundless. “When she walked into a room, she would light it up,” they said. “If you were sad, she’d make you laugh. She would joke around and be the funniest little person in school.”
They shared that Anna had recently taken steps toward a future in public service — a path she had chosen with confidence and pride. “She had just finished taking the test to join the military,” they added. “She was already talking to recruiters and had chosen her career path. She wanted to do something that would help her community.”
Anna’s Lasting Legacy
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Anna was well-known for her kindness and sense of community. Always willing to help her town, she was a known face at Titusville businesses and frequently participated with neighborhood activities.
According to her family, her life was full even though it wasn’t long. Anna led a happy, active life, seizing every chance that presented her.
She joined the varsity cheerleading squad at her high school after starting gymnastics at the age of two. In addition to enjoying shopping, makeup, and hanging out with friends, she liked the ocean and obtained both her boater’s license and her dive certification.
Kindly referred to as “Anna Banana” by her family, she left behind a legacy of generosity and aspiration in addition to fond memories of love and laughter.
Family Retreats From Public Life as Rumors Swirl
Social media has been ablaze with speculation as the investigation goes on behind closed doors, leaving the bereaved family reeling from unfounded speculations and internet falsehoods.
“I’ve had to shut the world out,” Christopher confessed. “I don’t watch the TV anymore. We’ve literally had to stop doing anything to do with the internet.”
What started out as a happy getaway has now turned into a private heartbreak that has been made public, leaving many unanswered questions about what actually occurred to Anna Kepner on that tragic journey.
