Uk Train Stabbing Survivor Recalls Attacker’s Chilling 6-Word Message As She Begged For Her Life
A woman who escaped a wild attack on a train in the UK describes the terrifying conversation she had with the alleged knifeman while pleading for her life.
At 7:39 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, police surrounded a train headed for London after receiving frantic reports of a knifeman slicing through the carriages.
After the train left Peterborough, the brave train driver, an army veteran named Andrew Johnson, is thought to have moved quickly after being informed of a mass stabbing. When the train stopped unexpectedly at a platform in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, scores of emergency personnel greeted the attacker and the passengers.
Two men in their 30s were then apparently arrested by armed police after they purportedly used a taser to take down the suspect; however, one of them was later freed without any further action.
Nine of the victims were first thought to be in serious condition, but up to 11 were injured during the incident and needed hospital treatment.
Authorities verified one individual, believed to be a train employee who tried to stop the violent attack, was still in severe, life-threatening condition as of Sunday, November 2.
Stories from survivors and eyewitnesses about their grueling ordeal are now coming to light. Two friends, Andy Gray and Danya Arnold, described how they barely avoided the knifeman when one rushed to the help of a young man covered in blood.
Danya told The Sun that she witnessed the assailant dig his sword into “anyone he could find” while she was on the same carriage as him.
Amid the stress and the turmoil, the 48-year-old said she found herself coning face-to-face with the culprit.
“I was going with the crowd but then I got knocked into some seats,” she explained. “I looked back and saw the knifeman running so I slid down to the floor.”
The site manager continued: “He came at me with the knife and I begged ‘please don’t.'”
“Then something shifted in his face and he just carried on. I feel very fortunate to still be alive.”
She claims the suspect returned and gave her a disturbing statement, so that encounter wasn’t the only one she had with him.
“Then a minute or so later he came back through,” Danya continued, “looked at me again and said ‘the devil’s not going to win’ and continued on.”
“I was waiting cause I could still hear him in the carriage. I heard the doors open and ran off the train.”
Moments later, she observed him running before cops caught up with him and tasered him ‘near the taxi rank.’
When he spoke to the outlet, Andy was still covered in blood from applying a makeshift tourniquet to a child kid on the train using his belt.
The project manager claimed to have witnessed a “sudden commotion” and a “huge knife plunging into people” while placing his drink and food orders.
After Andy and Danya parted ways, he met a young man who appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s.
He recalled: “A young lad there was only 19 or 20 and had been cut and stabbed really badly. He had a gash on his arm and had several puncture wounds under his arm.”
“He somehow got past me and was panicking walking through saying ‘please somebody help me, I’ve been stabbed.’”
To’string his arm up’, Andy threw away his belt, fearing a potential arterial bleed.
“The attacker was just stabbing anybody who he could find. I don’t know how it started or why,” he added.
Their observation coincides with the emergence of numerous heroic tales, such as the one about an older man who “blocked” the knifeman from lunging at a young child while another, identified as Stephen Crean, hurried to “confront” the assailant.
The’major event’ was first investigated by counter-terrorism officials, but police have now stated that it seems to have been a ‘isolated attack’.
A 32-year-old guy remains in detention on accusations of attempted murder.
