Kiss Legend Ace Frehley Dies At 74—Family Confirms Heartbreaking News
Paul Daniel ‘Ace’ Frehley, the renowned guitarist for KISS, passed away, and his family announced his death, leaving rock fans worldwide in sadness.
Frehley was one of the band’s founding members and passed away at the age of 74.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” his family said in a statement.
“In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth. We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others.”

“The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but according to Rolling Stone, the New Yorker’s agent, Lori Lousararian, said his death was caused by a “recent fall at his home.”
In addition to writing some of KISS’s most well-known songs, such as “Cold Gin,” “Parasite,” “Shock Me,” and “Talk to Me,” Frehley solidified his place in rock history by tearing up the guitar.
Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, the band’s frontmen, have talked of their “devastation.”
“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley,” they declared in a joint statement.
“He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy.”
“Our thoughts are with [Frehley’s wife] Jeanette, [his daughter] Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”
Ace Frehley was torn between pursuing his athletic aspirations and embracing rock ‘n’ roll while growing up in the Bronx, but a few brutal football games transformed his life.
“This is bulls***,” he later admitted thinking. “My hands are too important. The guitar comes first.”
It was the beginning of something greater. Frehley’s life was entirely turned upside down when, at the age of 16, she witnessed The Who and Cream tearing up the stage at the RKO Theater in Manhattan.
“The Who really inspired me towards theatrical rock,” he said. “When I saw them, it totally blew me away. I’d never seen anything like it. It was a big turning point.”
In an attempt to make it stick, he spent years switching between bands in the late 1960s and early 1970s. After then, it was all about the music.
That is, until he saw an advertisement that would permanently alter his life: “A lead guitarist with Flash and Ability is needed.” The album will be available soon. Please, no time wasters.
The rest is history.
