Nicole Kidman Submits Divorce Papers Against Keith Urban — Details Emerge
The marriage of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, which lasted for almost two decades, ended abruptly. The split was initiated months before to the formal filing, according to new information.
According to recent reports, Nicole Kidman has filed for divorce from Keith Urban, her longtime spouse and musician. The couple’s June 2025 separation is the reason for the filing. According to reports at the time, the actress wished to keep the marriage together. Her husband, who started the divorce, didn’t feel the same way, though.
A source revealed, “She didn’t want this,” referring to Kidman’s stance ahead of their separation. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.” The insider also shared that the actress’s family had been providing support during the separation.
They stated, “Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.”
The couple’s “Marital Dissolution Agreement” has since been examined by another magazine. Its existence attests to the fact that they have already resolved issues pertaining to parenting classes, child support, and custody.
According to reports, the deal contains a Parenting Seminar Order, a parenting plan, and a child support worksheet. The couple has two kids, ages 17 and 14, named Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
Two notaries signed the document: Kidman signed it on September 6, 2025, and Urban signed it on August 29, 2025. The actress apparently took the next step by filing for divorce on September 30, 2025, despite her seeming desire to keep the marriage intact.
Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. She also stated her wish to remain the “primary residential parent of the minor children.” The couple waived any spousal or child support, although a clause notes that Urban has already prepaid “child support obligations.”
The parenting plan calls for the kids to spend 59 days with their father and 306 days with their mother. The two superstars decided to work together to decide on all significant issues pertaining to their kids, including health and education.
It appears that they had a prenuptial agreement in place because both celebrities will keep their separate assets. People in the couple’s close circle and the Nashville, Tennessee, neighborhood think Urban has moved on with another woman, according to the same outlet.
Sources close to Kidman claim, “All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman. Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.” Another insider connected to the actress added, “It’s all over Nashville.”
The sources were unable to verify the start date of the purported relationship, though. It’s plausible that the relationship only began after the split, if the rumors are accurate. According to reports, the singer has moved on and is currently renting a house in Nashville.
On August 19, 2025, Kidman posted “Summer memories” on Instagram, suggesting that the pair was doing well. She was spotted at the time spending time with her kids and other family members.
Urban has been touring in the meanwhile, and his next date is set for October 2, 2025, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The pair commemorated their nineteenth wedding anniversary in June. The actress celebrated the day by sharing a black-and-white image of the two cuddling on Instagram.
The post was captioned, “Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban.” Keith Urban and Kidman were married in June 2006. As the couple quietly parts ways, their focus now shifts to family and the future. Though their marriage has ended, their story continues through the lives of their daughters.
