Brave Boy Saves His Mom By Passing A Secret Note To School Bus Driver
A child has received recognition for their courageous efforts as they boarded a school bus in the morning, possibly saving their mother’s life.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, a pupil saved their mother last Wednesday, September 24.
The unnamed first-grader demonstrated remarkable ability to remove their mother from danger.
A bus driver was compelled to take action after the pupil from Sumner-Fredericksburg School in Fayette County, Iowa, gave them a message.

At 7:24 a.m., they gave the note to the driver, and shortly after, deputies arrived at the child’s rural Westgate, Iowa, home.
Authorities found that 29-year-old Glenroy Stefand Miller was holding the student’s mother against her will.
After reportedly stealing the victim’s phone, Miller was arrested on accusations of domestic violence assault and hindering emergency communication.
The message on the note was straightforward and terrifying: “Call 911.”
According to reports, the student’s mother wrote it since she was unable to contact for assistance on her own while the suspect was there.
After capturing Miller, authorities conducted an investigation and discovered that Miller had abused the victim all night long, kicking her with enough power to pierce a lung and break two ribs.
The Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post: “At one point Miller started to take her to the hospital and then turned around and forced her home after realizing he would go to jail if he did. Miller continued to assault the victim throughout the night, causing serious injuries and threatened to kill her by holding a knife to her throat and wrists.”
He is charged with the following, the sheriff’s office added:
- Domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury
- Willful injury causing serious injury
- Kidnapping 2nd degree armed with a dangerous weapon
- Obstruction of an emergency communication device
According to public arrest records, Miller is presently being held on a $1,500 bond. Because he is originally from the Bahamas, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is also holding him.
