Donald Trump Says He Was ‘Triple Sabotaged’ At UN — Shares Melania’s Private Words After Speech

Following his vehement address, President Donald Trump disclosed exactly what First Lady Melania Trump told him, leading him to launch an investigation into what he called “triple sabotage” at the UN General Assembly.

Speaking for over an hour at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 23, the 79-year-old bemoaned the need for nations to “end the failed experiment of open borders” and said that those that persisted in the practice were “going to hell.”

The 47th president used his platform to disparage UN initiatives, celebrate his decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate agreement, and accuse “so-called green, renewable energy” of “destroying a large part of the free world and a large part of our planet,” in addition to insulting London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

In the strange speech, Trump also criticized the location for having a “bad teleprompter” and a “bad escalator,” alluding to a previous instance in which an escalator malfunctioned as he and his 55-year-old wife, Melania, attempted to ascend.

“If the First Lady wasn’t in great shape, she would’ve fallen,” he joked in the speech.

Following the meeting, Trump expressed his genuine opinions on the subject on his social media platform, Truth Social, labeling the proceedings “completely sabotage.”

“First, the escalator going up to the Main Speaking Floor came to a screeching halt. It stopped on a dime. It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face-first,” he wrote.

“Then, as I stood before a Television crowd of millions of people all over the World, and important Leaders in the Hall, my teleprompter didn’t work. It was stone cold dark.”

Trump claimed that the “sound was off,” making it impossible for anyone in the hall to hear him, which was the third “sinister” incident.

“World Leaders, unless they used the interpreters’ earpieces, couldn’t hear a thing,” he alleged.

“The first person I saw at the conclusion of the speech was Melania, who was sitting right up front.” I said, “How did I do?” And she said, “I couldn’t hear a word you said.”

“This wasn’t a coincidence, this was triple sabotage at the UN. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

The Republican acknowledged that he would write to the Secretary General to request an urgent inquiry into the day’s occurrences.

He also mentioned that the Secret Service is involved and that all security tapes at the escalator, particularly the emergency stop button, should be preserved.

In response to Trump’s claims, the UN has stated that a White House videographer “accidentally triggered a safety mechanism,” which is probably why the escalator halted.

The built-in software was “designed to prevent people or objects accidentally being caught and stuck in or pulled into the gearing,” UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric told NBC News.

Dujarric has acknowledged that a “thorough investigation” into all three of Trump’s accusations will be conducted, despite dismissing the businessman’s allegations that someone at the UN purposefully turned off the escalator.

He also stated that his office was “ready to cooperate in full transparency” in order to determine the cause of the malfunctioning teleprompter, the reason the escalator was turned off, and whether the General Assembly hall’s noise level was a problem.
