Chilling Moment Charlie Kirk Suspect Learns State Will Seek Death Penalty
The terrifying moment Tyler Robinson, Charlie Kirk’s shooting suspect, was informed that the state will pursue the death penalty is captured on camera.
On September 10, Kirk was shot and killed at a speech at Utah Valley University. Shortly after the shooting, President Donald Trump announced that the 31-year-old activist had died.
He said: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
A manhunt was started for the murderer after CCTV evidence showed a man on the roof of a building campus near where Kirk was speaking. Thirty-three hours after the investigation started, the FBI was able to apprehend 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Following Robinson’s arrest, details have been confirmed. According to reports, the Utah resident was outspoken about his distaste for Kirk and his politics, and messages purportedly sent by Robinson pointed his roommate to a note that read, “I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
A message allegedly sent by Robinson also revealed a potential motive for the killing, reading, “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I’m able to grab my rifle unseen I will have left no evidence.”
“Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.”
Prosecutors said yesterday that Robinson was charged with two charges of witness tampering, two counts of obstruction of justice, felony discharge of a handgun, aggravated murder, and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.
Trump had demanded that the guilty party be given the death penalty following Kirk’s murder, and it appears that the President’s wish may soon be fulfilled as Utah State Courts captured video of Robinson being informed of his potential punishment.
In what is expected to be a protracted and much watched legal procedure, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray filed a motion to pursue the death penalty for Robinson. It is undeniable that he seemed momentarily shocked upon hearing the news.

Additionally, the FBI verified some of the conversations found on a Discord account purportedly belonging to Robinson, in which he appears to confess to Kirk’s murder.
One message reads, “It was me at UVU yesterday. I’m sorry for all of this.”
Another said, “I’m surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments, thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you all for everything.”
Kirk’s funeral is scheduled for Sunday, September 21, at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium, which has space for over 60,000 people.
