Student Who Asked Charlie Kirk His Final Question Speaks Out After Shooting

At a Utah Valley University speaking engagement, the student who asked Charlie Kirk a question just before he was shot dead has spoken up.

Since Wednesday’s deadly shooting, Kirk’s assassination has become a hot topic of conversation worldwide. The conservative pundit had established himself as one of the more well-liked figures in the right-wing segments of American politics and was a co-founder of Turning Point USA.

On September 10, the 31-year-old was giving a speech at a rally held at Utah Valley University as a part of his American Comeback tour. A single gunshot rang out while he was answering a question about shootings in the United States, and the bullet, which was thought to have been fired by a shooter on the rooftop of a neighboring campus building, wounded him in the neck.

Authorities have yet to capture the shooter as of this writing. Two suspects were initially detained by police following the incident, however they were eventually freed.

Yesterday, the FBI revealed fresh video showing a person leaping from a rooftop and running away, and a firearm and ammunition were discovered in a nearby forest.

Now the last person to ever share words with Kirk is speaking out, having uploaded a video to Instagram to share his thoughts. “I don’t know how to make this video, it’s been a rough 24 hours,” he began.

According to People, the student who posed the query that immediately preceded Kirk’s tragic last moments was Hunter Kozak.

“Do you know many transgender Americans have been shooters over the last 10 years?” Kozak asked.

“Too many,” Kirk said boldly, and the audience exploded in cheers.

When the student insisted the number was five and asked about total mass shooters over the past decade, Kirk replied, “Counting or not counting gang violence?” These were his final words.

Kozak clarified in his Instagram video that he had gone to the event on Wednesday after a week or two prior, he had recorded a video criticizing Kirk for remarks he had made regarding “the suspected Minneapolis school shooter” and transgender people.

Following Kirk’s death, the Utah Valley University student later denounced the gunman as well as those who made offensive remarks.

“First off, you sick f—— psychos that think this is the answer, it’s not. I don’t know what else to say,” Kozak said, labeling Kirk’s manner of death “awful.”

“Charlie had two kids and a wife, and not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife,” he said in the video. “It’s a tragedy and it’s hard to grapple with.”

Peace be with you, Kirk, Charlie.
