Chris Martin’s Jaw-Drop Joke Sets Off Tech Scandal Live On Stage

While speaking to the crowd at a Coldplay show, Chris Martin surprised a camera-shy pair by joking that they were “either having an affair” or simply extremely timid.

The two appeared appalled to be shown by thousands of people on a large screen as the frontman moved his “kiss cam” throughout the audience at Gillette Stadium in Boston on Wednesday.

“Oh look at these two! Oh what?’ he exclaimed in a video shared to TikTok – which has now racked up 5.8 million views – as they covered their faces and dived behind the barrier.”

The footage, which was shown to the entire crowd, abruptly showed the couple, who were grinning and swaying to the music while holding each other.

The male swiftly ducked down as the 48-year-old artist delivered his joke, and the woman covered her face in embarrassment as she left the room.

As part of their historic Music of the Spheres World Tour, the band is presently in the United States.

After playing Madison, Nashville, and Miami, they will return to the UK for a run of shows in August.

This year, Coldplay has made the most money from live performances.

The band’s Spheres World Tour has reportedly brought in an incredible £100 million so far this year, with each event earning £4.8 million.

They are far ahead of Shakira in second position, who has earned £85 million from her live concerts to far.

The Eagles are in fourth position with £68.82 million, while Kendrick Lamar and SZA are in third place with £73.91 million.

After eight years of dating, Coldplay frontman Chris discreetly broke up with Dakota Johnson last month.

An exclusive DailyMail source claims that a secret A-list insider is already working behind the scenes on a reunion, despite the fact that the couple, who originally started dating in 2017 and later got engaged, called it quits in June.

When Chris made a mysterious reference to Dakota at Coldplay’s June performance in Las Vegas, it raised rumours.

“Thank you so much everybody,” the Paradise singer said to the sold-out crowd at Allegiant Stadium, before unexpectedly referencing Johnson’s latest film.

“Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other,” he said before adding, “Don’t forget to see Materialists! We love you!” in video shared by Deuxmoi.

The couple’s representatives have not formally announced their breakup.

DailyMail.com’s source said the actress “held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much.”

The insider continued: “Dakota is devastated that she isn’t going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them.”

They added that there is a chance the pair may reconcile but “right now, being separated will do wonders if they were to have any type of future together.”

In August 2024, DailyMail originally revealed that the couple was having problems, but a representative later affirmed that they were still together.

The couple reportedly separated up for a short time in 2019 because Chris was pressuring them to have kids, but they soon reconciled.

In March 2014, after ten years of marriage, he famously divorced Paltrow, the mother of his two children, Moses, 19, and Apple, 21.

Chris also disclosed in September of last year that Coldplay would be putting out two more albums before they’re “over.”

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Chris dropped the bombshell saying: “We are only going to do 12 proper albums and that’s real. Yeah I promise.”

“Because less is more and for some of our critics, even less would be even more! It’s really important that we have that limit.”

Explaining his reasoning behind the decision, he added: “There’s only seven Harry Potters. There’s only 12 and a half Beatle albums, there’s about the same for Bob Marley, so all our heroes.”

“Also having that limit means the quality control is so high right now and for a song to make it, it’s almost impossible, which is great. And so where we could be coasting, we’re trying to improve.”

Fans of the British band, however, have hope because the lead vocalist revealed that they might be working on other projects and that any “side thing” they undertake would have to be “something completely different.”

Chris and the group will soon release Moon Music, their tenth studio album, which includes songs by Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Jon Hopkins.

Chris has previously stated that the band will no longer produce songs, nevertheless.

The frontman stated in an interview with NME in 2021 that he was positive he and his colleagues, Will Champion, 46, Guy Berryman, 46, and Jonny Buckland, 47, will break up after their twelfth album.

Ahead of the launch of the ninth LP, Music of the Spheres, the hitmaker said: “I don’t think we’ll only make 12 albums. I know that’s what we’ll do.”
