Expert Reveals 15 U.S. Cities Likely To Be First Targets In WW3— Some May Surprise You
An expert has offered a list of US cities that might be targeted by a nuclear attack in the event that World War Three breaks out, as tensions between leaders and governments around the world continue to rise.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is at war with Ukraine after his soldiers invaded its southern neighbour in February 2022, seems to be incensed at President Donald Trump’s order this week for the US to attack Iran’s nuclear sites.
Although the 72-year-old opponent has been urged by the 79-year-old Republican to reach a peace pact with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the two do not appear to be any closer to resolving the crisis than they were six months ago.
Of course, Trump has also launched a trade war with China, Mexico, and Canada, the latter of which is far more dangerous given its army’s strength and the current hostilities.

Professor Alex Wellerstein, a nuclear historian at the Stevens Institute of Technology, has now listed the 15 cities he believes would be attacked in the event that the US’ adversaries decide to go to nuclear war.
He told the Daily Mail: “If the adversary is Russia and their goal is to disable US retaliation, command centers and ICBM sites will be hit first. If the attacker is a rogue actor, symbolic or densely populated areas might be targeted instead.”
Great Falls, Montana
You wouldn’t think Putin would be particularly interested in nuking Great Falls in Montana, or anywhere in the state, given that the population is only 60,422. With little over 1.1 million Americans living there, it is the fourth biggest in the United States.
It is situated close to Malmstrom Air Force Base, which is thought to be in charge of hundreds of nuclear missile silos, which China and Russia would be concerned will be utilised in a global conflict.
Cheyenne, Wyoming
The next destination is Cheyenne, Wyoming, which is adjacent to Montana to the south, but it takes over ten hours to drive from Cheyenne to Great Falls.
In any case, the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base is located within the boundaries of this tiny city, which has a population of only 65,168.
It should go without saying that inhabitants could become collateral damage if something did go off, as the US Air Force uses it as a control centre for nuclear missile operations.
Ogden and Clearfield, Utah
You might want to think about moving if you reside near Ogden or Clearfield, Utah, which is next to the Great Salt Lake and about a half-hour drive north of Salt Lake City. That is, if you think World War 3 is imminent.
When you add together both of their populations, you get 121,737.
However, Putin would only bomb the residential cities to destroy Hill Air Force Base, one of the US’s nuclear weapons facilities.
Shreveport, Louisiana
Iran would definitely put Shreveport, Louisiana, on their list of targets if they ever dropped a nuclear bomb.
This is because it has several B-52 bombers that are capable of delivering nuclear strikes that can destroy entire cities.
Unfortunately, any atomic strike would likely devastate the 177,959 people who live in Shreveport, which is only six miles distant.
Honolulu, Hawaii
Since everyone has heard of the attack on Pearl Harbour, Americans are likely aware of why the capital of Hawaii is considered to be among the most vulnerable places to bombing.
The island, which is situated nearly midway between mainland America and Asia, is the site of several military operations and is occupied by both naval and air troops.
There are 341,778 people living there, so hopefully nothing major happens!
Omaha, Nebraska
Trump’s role in the bombing of Iran may have all 483,335 Omaha, Nebraska, residents on edge. This is because of Offutt Air Force Base, which is located on its boundaries.
It played a significant role in the Cold War and continues to be crucial to US nuclear activities.
Colorado Springs, Colorado
If America’s adversaries wanted to destroy Americans and military installations, such as the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD), which operates from the base of the Rockies, Colorado Springs, with its 488,664 residents, could be a lucrative target.
Since it is in charge of protecting North American airspace, it would be a prime target for destruction.
Albuquerque, New Mexico
According to the 1980s pop-rock group Prefab Sprout, “Hot dog, jumping frog, Albuquerque” would be the response if a nuclear bomb were to strike central New Mexico.
Yes, Albuquerque is home to Kirtland Air Force Base, which has one of the biggest nuclear arsenals in the United States, and 560,274 residents.
Washington, D.C.
Alright, this is a simple one, so do we need to elaborate? The US government, 678,972 citizens, and the president all call it home.
Seattle, Washington
More than 737,015 people live in this Washington metro region, which is close to Naval Base Kitsap, a significant US nuclear and submarine base.
Seattle’s significance is increased by the fact that it is a major seaport and a global centre for technology.
Additionally, Americans attempting to leave are hampered by the local geology. There aren’t many land-based exits because the area is surrounded by waterways and mountains.
San Francisco, California
Since none of these cities are located near any military installations or nuclear bombs, we really only need to mention their populations. The other cities are rather evident because they are such significant locations in the United States.
The population of San Francisco, California, is 873,965.
Houston, Texas
Although Houston may not be the capitol of Texas, it does have 2.3 million residents.
Chicago, Illinois
Chicago, Illinois, sits next to Lake Michigan, and if it were nuked, it would kill 2.6 million people and produce a terrible environmental catastrophe farther up north.
With almost 9.6 million residents in its vast metropolitan region, Chicago is the third-largest metropolis in America.
Los Angeles, California
Film enthusiasts can never forgive Russia or China for bombing Los Angeles, California, which is home to 3.8 million people and Hollywood.
New York City
Lastly, New York City, also known as the Big Apple, is the pinnacle of American metropolis. There are an astounding 8.8 million people living there.
