Three Sisters Found Dead After Custody Visit; Father Wanted For Murder

In yet another tragic development, authorities have established that the three girls who vanished last week most likely died by asphyxiation, although they have not yet located their father or suspected killer.

Whitney Decker sounded the alarm on Friday, May 30, when her three daughters—Evelyn, 8, Paityn, 9, and Olivia, 5—did not come home from a scheduled visitation with their father.

Travis Decker, her ex-husband, was supposed to return their girls to their house in Wenatchee, Washington, but he never showed up.

Sadly, police reported that all three of the little children were discovered dead at the Rock Island Campground in Illinois at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, June 2, some 40 miles from their home.

The bodies of the girls were also discovered close to the white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup that belonged to their father.

According to a preliminary report submitted to the Chelan County Superior Court, the three sisters’ probable cause of death has now been determined to be asphyxiation, Fox 13 reports.

According to the Wenatchee Police Department, Decker is still allegedly at large and faces three charges of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.

The 32-year-old, who picked up the girls from their mother on Friday, is still being sought in a manhunt.

Whitney informed police that her desperate calls to Decker, who was supposed to return them, went straight to voicemail after she called the police out of worry for her girls’ safety.

After Decker’s truck was later seen near Leavenworth’s west end, a thorough search was conducted in the town’s forested areas.

According to The NY Post, when police inspected the car, they discovered two bloody handprints along with personal belongings including blankets, food, car seats, and a wallet.

A day prior to the suspected kidnapping, the man drove to and from the campsite where the girls were discovered dead, according to cell phone data.

Decker, who is thought to be homeless, lives with his dog in his car or at nearby hotels and campgrounds.

According to his ex-wife, with whom he has been divorced for a number of years, he has been exhibiting symptoms of mental health issues.

The public has now been warned by law enforcement not to approach Decker if they see him, citing his military past as a “significant risk.” Whether he is armed or not is likewise unknown.

Police are asking for help in locating Decker, but the public is being warned not to approach him.

He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts. He is described as being 5′ 8″, 190 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone in the neighbourhood should dial 911 if they spot Decker.

The burden of the terrible loss on the family is further demonstrated by a GoFundMe created to assist Whitney with expenditures and legal fees following the deaths of her daughters.

According to the fundraiser, which as of this writing has earned over $349,000, the three girls loved theatre and dancing.

It reads in part: “We are heartbroken to share that the girls have since passed. Their light touched so many, and the pain of this loss is immeasurable.”

The fundraiser is accepting donations here.
