Dolph Lundgren Reveals The Secret Behind His Marriage To Younger Wife Emma, 29

The’secret’ to a successful marriage, according to Dolph Lundgren, has been revealed.

Known for his roles in Rocky IV, Creed II, and The Expendables, the Swedish actor and his wife, Emma Krokdal, became citizens of the United States last year.

Krokdal married the Hollywood star in 2023 and is 38 years Lundgren’s junior. After over two decades of marriage to Anette Qviberg, this is Lundgren’s second marriage.

The actor claims to have a “secret” to maintaining his marriage to Krokdal, despite the fact that it is still relatively fresh.

“I have this new thing, I have to give her a hug, a nice big hug, 10 times a day,” he revealed to Fox News.

“I try to get a few before lunch,” Lundgren continued to gush. “So I still have some in the bank [throughout the day]. It sounds simple and a little goofy, but doing that neutralizes a lot of disagreements and misunderstandings. And it makes us both feel good. That’s my new recipe now.”

The Rocky favorite went on: “When you have disagreements, somebody wants to be right, but the other person also wants to be right. But you have to make your partner feel good, even when you both have disagreements.”

“That phrase [‘happy wife, happy life’] is true. You have to respect each other. You have to compliment each other.”

The ‘two-week rule’ is the guiding principle of Robert Downey Jr. and his wife of 22 years.

The Iron Man actor and Susan Downey have been wed since 2003. They have two children together: a daughter named Avri was born in 2014, and a son named Exton was born in 2012.

In addition, Downey and her ex-wife, Deborah Falconer have a 31-year-old son named Indio.

Sharing the rule that’s kept their marriage going for so long, Susan previously shared with PEOPLE, “We do have a two-week rule, which often feels too long, but we don’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other and the family being together.”

“Fortunately, we prefer to be a traveling circus when we can be,” she continued.

Susan continued by praising her work as a producer for giving her greater flexibility than her husband’s work in front of the camera.

“The good news is I’m not in front of the camera, and so as a producer I end up with a little bit more flexibility in terms of location, of where I would need to be,” she said of this.
