Trump’s Tariff Plan Could Trigger Price Hikes—Here Are 10 Products To Buy Before It’s Too Late

In light of Donald Trump’s latest tariff announcements, American consumers are being advised to purchase these ten necessities before their costs soar.

President Trump has imposed numerous taxes on imports from all across the world since taking office again in January.

The 47th president declared on Wednesday, April 2, that a 10 percent “baseline” tax will be applied worldwide, with higher rates for a list of 60 nations known as Trump’s “worst offenders.”

Japan (24 percent), South Africa (30 percent), and Vietnam (46 percent) are among the nations with high customs duties.

The new tariffs were announced during a Rose Garden Address at the White House on what Trump called “Liberation Day” for the US.

Experts caution that the new tariffs will cause the cost of many commonplace things to increase, thus consumers are being advised to buy these items as soon as possible if they want them.

The tariffs, which go into effect today (April 5), coincide with the stock market’s recent significant shifts.

Due to the extensive tariffs imposed on trading partners, Americans watched as global stocks plummeted and the US currency plummeted to a six-month low.

When Trump imposed sweeping reciprocal tariffs on up to 60 countries, the market capitalization of the S&P 500 fell by $2 trillion.

Due to the economic climate, American consumers are being advised to buy more of certain foods, such as avocados and bananas, which are imported from other countries.

Additionally, now might be the ideal time to buy a washer and dryer, so those looking to get a new car should think about moving fast.

The ten things that Americans should think about purchasing right away are:

  • Bananas
  • Avocados
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Cars
  • Furniture
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Clothes
  • Toys

Former US President Barack Obama is among the many who have strongly criticized Trump’s tariffs.

During a speech with College President Steven Tepper, Obama said, “I have deep differences of opinion with my most immediate successor — who’s now president once again.”

“There are a host of policies that we could be discussing where I have strong opinions,” Obama continued, “remarking how he believes the government’s commitment to strong principles has ‘eroded’.”

Obama added, “When I watch some of what’s going on now, it does not — look, I don’t think what we just witnessed in terms of economic policy and tariffs is going to be good for America, but that’s a specific policy.”

“I’m more deeply concerned with a federal government that threatens universities if they don’t give up students who are exercising their right to free speech.”
