Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Wife Shares A Heartbreaking Update
After serving as president and a comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is now among the most well-known people in the world as a result of recent events. Since Russia crossed the border and declared war on Ukraine in 2022, he has served as its leader.
Even though Zelenskyy is still in the middle of a war and has a whole nation on his shoulders, he has a lot of support from both his staff and his wife, Olena Zelenska, despite the fact that things have recently become more problematic.
Although she is not as well-known as her husband, the First Lady of Ukraine has made an effort to restore some sort of normalcy to her countrymen and women in spite of the conflict. Olena recently spoke out about the large number of children who were kidnapped from Ukraine and sent to Russia. Unfortunately, the news is not good at all.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska are intimately acquainted. The tale of how they became president of Ukraine and the incredible events they have faced together. However, it is believed that Olena was not pleased when her husband declared his intention to run for president.

Born on February 5, 1978, in Kryvyi Rih, a city in central Ukraine around 260 miles south of Kyiv, Olena Zelenska (maiden name Kiyashko) was born. Zelenskyy and Zelenska were born a week apart and grew up in the same city. But they didn’t actually meet until they were both enrolled at Kryvyi Rih National University.
Soon after meeting at university, Olena and Volodymyr began dating. In addition to studying law, Volodymyr wanted to become a comedian. From Volodymyr’s perspective, it wasn’t really love at first sight when they first met.
Still, on September 6, 2003, the pair was married after dating for eight years. Aleksandra, their daughter, was born a year later. Olena gave birth to Kiril, the couple’s second child, in 2013.
Olena Zelenska and Volodymyr Zelenskyy had not contemplated becoming Ukraine’s president and first lady when they were married. At first, their hobbies were quite different, but as they got to know one another, they discovered that they got along well.
Olena began writing for her spouse since she was a writer and Volodymyr was a budding comic. The Ukrainian comedy series Servant of the People then helped Zelenskyy’s career take off in the 2010s. The program ran from 2015 to 2019 and Olena wrote for it.
Olena Zelenska’s vision for Ukraine
Zelenskyy played the amiable high school instructor Vasiliy Petrovich Goloborodko in the comedy series. After growing weary of what he claimed were dishonest politicians, he was elected president in the program.
Interestingly, the program terminated in 2019 because Volodymyr Zelenskyy, its star, was elected president of Ukraine. It’s safe to say that his path to the presidency was very unusual.
Olena Zelenska had issues she wanted to address, and Zelenskyy made his plan for Ukraine plain. Before she and her team determined which assignment was the most important, it took almost six months. They ultimately agreed on school nutrition improvements and children’s health.
Zelenska desired healthier eating habits to be taught to Ukrainian pupils and for school meals to be improved and made more nutrient-dense. A new nutrition program was to be introduced in schools by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health. She attended multiple medical facilities dealing with the same problems while traveling abroad with her spouse.
“In Japan, for example, there is a nutritionist in every school that pays special attention to the nutrition of children with allergies, and the kitchens in schools are completely separated and sterile, like an operations room. I sourced numerous ideas and became convinced that making positive changes is real, you just have to sincerely crave something and work hard,” Olena explained.
“It’s not a normal relationship”
She is now well-known throughout the world for a very different cause. Olena and her children, Aleksandra and Kiril, were said to have stayed in an obscure location in Ukraine when the conflict broke out in 2022. The first lady made the same decision as her husband and chose to remain resolute.
“I will not have panic and tears,” Olena wrote on Instagram at the time. “I will be calm and confident. My children are looking at me. I will be next to them. And next to my husband. And with you.”
Neither Olena nor Volodymyr Zelenskyy could have predicted the current state of Ukraine. The couple was put to the ultimate test when the war started in February 2022, and Olena revealed in the summer that they had made the decision to put their romance on hold.
Olena revealed in an interview with CNN that the conflict had a significant impact on their relationship. Due to safety concerns, they were not allowed to spend a lot of time together.
“But at least I can physically feel him next to me,” Zelenska said. “This isn’t normal. It’s not a normal relationship when children cannot see their father and have to talk to him on the phone. So our relationship is on pause just as it is for all Ukrainians.”
“We need to accumulate our strength, we need to save our energy,” she added.
On “the very first day” of the conflict, Volodymyr and Olena Zelenska bid each other farewell.
Volodymyr and Olena Zelenska said goodbye to each other “the very first day” of the war
“We say goodbye to each other the very first day. And over the next two months, we only had a chance to speak via the phone. I’m really proud of the fact that the world has uncovered the true identity of my husband,” she explained.
It’s never easy for a relationship to be apart, and for Zelenskyy and Olena, it wasn’t just a few months. The first lady claims that even though the battle is still going on and they have been away for a long time, their marriage is stronger than ever. Olena stated in an interview with Daily Mail that they never fail one another.
“We’re never tired of each other, we never bore each other. And it makes the family stronger, too. It’s not a normal life for any person to live in a country at war. It’s a constant psychological burden and pressure. I hope when this pressure is relieved, with our victory, we will be able to stay sane and we’ll be fine. However, now I think that we are as close as ever emotionally,” Zelenska said.
She added: “And we understand each other very well. In fact, it is very important that you can respect your nearest and dearest. I am sure love is not enough. And I am happy that I can respect my husband because it would have been very hard to stay with him, even given huge love, if I hadn’t believed in his honesty:”
Olena Zelenska says only 1,227 abducted children has been returned from Russia
Olena continues to carry out her responsibilities as first lady despite the ongoing war. Even though she has been a strong advocate for encouraging more women to launch enterprises in Ukraine, the situation’s reality cannot be ignored.
Olena discussed the significance of the world remembering who initiated the war and the necessity of supporting Ukraine during her appearance on the Italian political and news discussion show Quarta Repubblica.
“Instead of stopping the aggressor and ensuring that he can never harm anyone again, discussions begin about some so-called mutually beneficial dialogue with him. This is a distortion of reality, a blurring of morality. And it is an extremely dangerous situation for everyone,” she said.
“We are not fighting for kilometers. We are fighting for our people in the occupied territories. These kilometers are their homes, their jobs, their schools, their familiar streets. These people have the right to live in their country without fear. We cannot leave them in danger.”
Since Russia invaded Ukraine, numerous civilians have been slain. The Ukrainian government claims that over 19,000 children have been kidnapped and transported to Russia. Only 1,227 children have been returned, according to Olena Zelenska, who recently revealed that Russia is impeding the process in a number of ways.
“Unfortunately, this is not a mechanism that works consistently. That is why the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children was created – to ensure that such a mechanism exists and operates. Today, 41 countries are already part of this coalition,” she concluded.
