Russia Releases Statement After Trump Reads Zelensky’s Letter
In the midst of all the recent reports regarding America’s allegedly worsening relationship with Ukraine, Russia has finally issued a statement. A heated incident occurred in President Donald Trump’s Oval Office while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was in the United States.
With a Kremlin official offering commentary on the matter, it appears that Russia has now issued a statement regarding all of this.
To find out more about all of this, continue reading.
Following Donald Trump’s reading of a letter from Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky before Congress, a Kremlin official has discussed the latter’s openness to negotiations.
Zelensky of Ukraine met with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance this week to discuss a number of issues, the most urgent of which is Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Russia.
As Trump and Vance expressed their displeasure with Zelensky’s lack of appreciation and apparent refusal to negotiate a truce with Russia, the scene became tense.

“You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people”, Trump said during the meeting. “You’re gambling with World War Three, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have,” the President of the United States added.
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Kremlin, praised Trump’s announcement that he will suspend all military assistance to Ukraine as the “best contribution to the cause of peace.”
After his early exit from the White House, Zelensky wrote a letter to President Donald Trump which he read aloud in front of Congress yesterday on March 4, 2025. He said, “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible.”
The latter further said, “My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts,” it went on, “We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence.”
Additionally, the letter stated that Ukraine is prepared to sign the rare earth minerals agreement whenever it is most convenient for the US. They were supposed to sign this agreement during Zelensky’s catastrophic White House visit.
“It’s time to end this senseless war. If you want to end wars, you have to talk to both sides,” the POTUS stated.
Moscow seemed to value Ukraine’s readiness to “come to the negotiating table” as well.
“We are positive. The question is with whom to sit at the negotiating table,” Peskov said in a statement.
He did, however, express his perplexity as to how that would occur given the 2022 order stating that Ukraine will not engage in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“For now, the legal ban by the Ukrainian President holding talks with the Russian side is in force,” the statement said.
“Overall, the approach is positive, but the details have not changed yet,” the statement noted.
According to Sky News, Russia is still attacking Ukraine. They carried out a drone strike on the city of Odesa in southern Ukraine on March 4, 2025, killing a 77-year-old woman and wounding three others.
According to regional governor Oleh Kiper, the drones had damaged a private residence and caused fires, and the woman died from shrapnel wounds on the city’s outskirts.
Ukraine shot down 115 drones in retaliation for Russia’s 181 drones.
We have yet to see how everything turns out, and the scenario is still evolving. How do you feel about the whole thing?
