Halle Berry Tells Adrien Brody’s Girlfriend She Is Sorry Before Kissing Him On The Red Carpet At The Oscars
After more than two decades, Halle Berry has retaliated against Adrien Brody with an unexpected kiss of her own.
Brody, 51, gave the American actress and model an unwanted kiss when she gave him the Best Actor prize at the 2003 Oscars.
Since an uninvited kiss isn’t acceptable, he has responded to the criticism of his action.
Berry, however, took the lead at this year’s awards and kissed the Best Actor winner.
In The Brutalist, Brody played architect László Tóth, who travels to America to start over, and won Best Actor for the second time in his career.

But before all of this, Berry observed the actor when he was in the middle of an interview on the red carpet with Georgina Chapman, his partner of five years.
People have been criticizing Brody’s conduct in the recent dispute between the two, but it appears that everything is on equal footing.
She can be seen in the video going up to Brody, saying she’s sorry to Chapman, and then giving him a playful kiss.
He appeared unconcerned, grinning and kissing her on the cheek later, before Berry approached Chapman and kissed her.
Chapman seemed to find the humorous side of the viral moment and wasn’t very disturbed by it.
Regarding the first kiss at the Oscars 22 years ago, Brody had just won Best Actor at the age of 29 for his performance in The Pianist, making him the youngest winner in history.
Despite Berry’s surprise, he kissed her when he went up on stage to pick up his award before he began his speech by stating, “I bet they didn’t tell you that was in the gift bag.”
But in a recent interview with Variety, he has since admitted: “We live in a very conscious time, which is a wonderful thing,”
“And nothing that I ever do or have done or would’ve done is ever done with the intention of making anyone feel bad.”
However, Berry has also commented on the original kiss, saying Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live back in 2017: “I was like, ‘What the f**k is happening right now?’ That is what was going through my mind.”
Berry acknowledged that because she could relate to Brody’s odd feelings following his Best Actor award, she gave him a pass.
“I was there the year before and I know the feeling of being out of your body,” she said. “I just f**king went with it.”
With Brody treating the most recent kiss lightly and Berry making fun of the drama around it all, it appears like the two have no animosity toward one another at all.
Wildest moments at the 2025 Oscars
Conan O’Brien takes aim at Donald Trump and Drake
Following a performance in which he viscerally burst from a nude Demi Moore’s body in reference to The Substance, late-night host O’Brien left viewers speechless with a number of his jokes.
He attacked Emilia Perez star Karla Sofía Gascón in his introductory statement, claiming that her awards chances were ruined by her contentious tweets.
He quipped: “Anora uses the ‘F-word’ 479 times – that’s three more than the record set by Karla Sofía Gascón’s publicist.”
In a later dig on Trump’s disastrous meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he said: “Anora’s doing great tonight. Two awards. I think Americans are finally ready for someone to stand up to a powerful Russian.”
After a shotgun wedding with his son, Anora witnesses a stripper sparring with a Russian oligarch and his spouse.
Most controversially, O’Brien said around the halfway point: “Well, we’re halfway through the show, which means it’s time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake a pedophile.”
Naturally, this alludes to Kendrick Lamar’s performance of Drake’s diss song “Not Like Us” during his Super Bowl halftime show.
Kieran Culkin’s chaotic acceptance speech
Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, the first prize of the evening. This suggests that he is owed two more children by his wife, Jazz.
He said in his acceptance speech: “About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her because she said if I won the award she would give me the kid.”
“Turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was going to win.”
Then he added, “Let’s get cracking on those kids,” after claiming she had promised him four if he won an Oscar.
Additionally, he used the first expletive of the evening when he referred to fellow contender Jeremy Strong as “f**king great.”
Morgan Freeman gives heartbreaking Gene Hackman tribute, but In Memoriam segment causes controversy
During his appearance to present the at Memoriam segment, Freeman paid a moving homage to Gene Hackman, who was discovered dead at his house last week together with his wife Betsy Arakawa and dog.
He said: “This week, our community lost a giant and I lost a dear friend.”
“Like everyone who ever shared a scene with him I learned he was a generous performer and a man whose gifts elevated everyone’s work”
“He received two Oscars but more importantly he won the hearts of film-lovers all over the world.”
“I don’t think about legacy, I just hope people remember me as someone who tried to do good work,” he claims Hackman once said to him.
Freeman added: “Gene, you’ll be remembered for that and so much more. Rest in peace, my friend.”
Michelle Trachtenberg, who passed away last week, was controversially left out of the In Memoriam section.
Anora sweeps awards and Sean Baker makes history
Mikey Madison’s film Anora received five prizes, including Best Picture, out of six nominations.
Sean Baker, who directed it, is currently the first individual to win four Oscars in a single night: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Editing.
He said in his acceptance speech for Best Original Screenplay: “I want to thank the sex worker community – they have shared their stories, they have shared their life experiences with me over the years.”
“My deepest respect, thank you, I share this with you.”
Madison won the movie’s Best Actress award as well.
For his portrayal of a visionary builder who survived the Holocaust in The Brutalist, Adrien Brody won Best Actor.
Additionally, Zoe Saldaña made history by being the first American of Dominican descent to win Best Supporting Actress and only the third Latina to do so.
