There Are Theories As To Why Melania Trump Put On The Famous Hat During Her Husband’s Inauguration
Social media users said that Melania Trump’s inauguration day hat was much more than just an accessory.
Yesterday, January 20, the First Lady of the United States wore a wool boater-style hat instead of following in her husband’s footsteps and wearing a red MAGA cap.
At Trump’s big day in Washington, which was attended by lawmakers, tech tycoons, and celebrities, she donned an ivory crepe shirt, a blue wool coat, and a matching skirt.
Adam Lippes, an American designer, claimed to have taken “great pride” in dressing Melania to witness her husband’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.
However, when the 54-year-old model returned to her position as First Lady following a four-year break, it was Eric Javits who had the privilege of creating a hat for her.
Melania is returning to the White House, where she has been housed since 2021 by Jill Biden, the wife of former President Joe Biden.
There has been a lot of internet discussion on some of the most peculiar aspects of the inauguration, such as Hilary Clinton’s amusing responses and the reason Barack Obama showed up by himself.
A strange encounter between Barron Trump and former President Biden has also gone viral, while Elon Musk’s actions on stage have caused criticism.
Apart from that, though, the buzz of the town is Melania’s headgear.
She really brought attention to her item when it prevented her from kissing Trump, but you can’t really miss it anyhow.
According to a body language specialist, Melania’s striking black-and-white outfit could have caused the new president to feel ‘unsure’ while he was on stage at his inauguration.
The broad brim of the headpiece covered a large portion of Melania’s face, hiding her eyes from view. People have been speculating as to why Melania made this decision.
Social media users believe that the First Lady’s decision to wear the so-called “mobster hat” was well-thought-out, rather than a fashion faux-pas.
One user on Reddit speculated that the 54-year-old wanted to use the accessory to hide her identity because of the “criticism she’s received regarding her facial expressions.”
“That hat is a great way to hide out and conceal much of how she’s feeling,” the caption added.
Another user added: “She wanted the attention diverted to President Trump instead of her, because she knew the media would make comments like some of you are doing in this Reddit.”
“Therefore she decided on a very conservative outfit to be not seen. Regardless of their political affiliation or what party you support, there was some thought put into it where you don’t even notice her, and that’s done intentionally.”
According to a third, Melania’s headgear, which was created by Javits, was a perfect replica of the comic book character Spy vs. Spy.
The message said, “Lol this is such a bad outfit choice,” “Why would no one tell her that she looks EXACTLY like the back spy in Spy vs Spy?”
A fourth commented: “My take is that she wore it to shield her from having Trump kiss her,” while a fifth then agreed, “It’s just wide enough so Donald can’t kiss her, it’s a strategic hat.”
Additionally, people shared their ideas about Melania’s headwear on X.
One said, “Melania wearing a hat pulled low today is to cover her eyes from photographers. Last inauguration her expressions became memes.”
Another person added: “Melania’s elegant, occlusive, all-business, mafia boss hat said no one – but especially not the media or their cameras – will have access to her unless she grants it, not even to her facial expressions.”
Trump disclosed that a military helicopter carrying Biden ruffled up his wife’s hat, which didn’t hold up well in the wind.
Speaking in the Emancipation Hall after the swearing-in ceremony, the President laughed: “She almost blew away. She was being elevated off the ground.”
