The Latest Hollywood Wildfire Tearing Through Los Angeles Has Destroyed Houses For Many, Including These Major Celebrities
Over 100,000 individuals, including some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, have had to leave their homes due to wildfires throughout California.
The governor of the U.S. state declared a state of emergency when a wildfire out of control swept into Los Angeles.
According to the BBC, there are currently at least six wildfires, one of which spread through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Numerous celebrities are known to reside in this neighborhood; nevertheless, they were evicted from their residences when the region caught fire on Tuesday night, January 7.
According to officials, more than 1,000 buildings have been demolished and at least five people have been killed so far, according to AP.
As winds of up to 70 mph aided the fires, local residents were forced to evacuate the apocalyptic conditions that had arrived in their aesthetically pleasing neighborhoods.
This started on Wednesday morning (8 January), but it made it too hard for planes to fight the fire from above.
Firefighters are still fighting the circumstances that have destroyed the property of several celebrities, leaving them without a place to live.
Billy Crystal
The tennis courts are all that’s left of the When Harry Met Sally actor’s house.
Since then, Crystal and his wife, Janice, have confirmed the death of their family home in a devastating statement to followers.
He wrote, “Janice and I lived in our home since 1979.”
“We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.”
“We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”
Mark Hamill
The Luke Skywalker star confirmed that he observed “small fires” on “both sides of the road” when evacuating his Malibu house due to a “last-minute” evacuation.
It was the’most catastrophic fire’ in more than 30 years, he wrote when he arrived at the Pacific Coast Highway.
Jamie Lee Curtis
For her own protection, the Freaky Friday star left her house.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “My community and possibly my home is on fire.”
Curtis added, “My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well.”
“There are so many conflicting reports. With all the technology there seems to be very little information. PLEASE POST FACTS! IT WILL HELP THOSE WONDERING!”
She provided an update, saying her house was secure.
Paris Hilton
Hilton took to Twitter to mourn the loss of her Malibu home, writing, “Heartbroken beyond words.” “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and witnessing our Malibu home burn to the ground on live TV is an experience no one should ever have to endure.”
“This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”
“While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family is safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires.”
“To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses.”
“The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
