Kate Hudson Singing Will Give You Goosebumps All Over Your Body
Although Kate Hudson’s stunning voice may have delighted online users, the performer has always had a natural talent for music, as she has mentioned in previous interviews.
When Hollywood actress Kate Hudson performed live at Little Big Town’s “Christmas at the Opry” event, she stunned the audience with her singing skills.
The artist has a long background in music and even released her debut album earlier this year, but her acting career is her most well-known accomplishment.
The YouTube video of the “Almost Famous” actress’ performance began with a thrilled Kate getting ready to sing backstage.
In keeping with the glamorous event’s atmosphere, the blonde beauty wore a glittering, long-sleeved dress with a daring slit on one side and a bold cutout that revealed her back.
Following a presenter’s introduction and finishing last-minute team checks, Kate walked confidently onto the stage with a Christmas theme while the audience applauded enthusiastically.
She then sang the lyrics to the holiday classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” accompanied by a great band and backup vocalists, in a strong and soulful performance.
The audience erupted in cheers and acclaim as she finished her act. In addition to the YouTube video, the “Fool’s Gold” singer shared a glimpse of her performance on Instagram in a post she co-wrote with NBC, the network that broadcasts the TV Christmas special.
“Christmas came early for me 🎁 Dreams do come true ✨The Grand Ole Opry and my favorite Christmas song ✨ ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ live from the @opry ✨🎄 Tune in to @littlebigtown ‘Christmas at the Opry’ special this Monday, December 16 at 8/7c on @nbc,” captioned Kate alongside the video.
Upon seeing her performance, social media users flocked to comment sections to shower Kate with praise and marvel at what a talented singer she is, which many were unaware of. “I had no idea she could sing she sings beautifully,” expressed a fan.
Another echoed, “Wow, great voice! Who knew! [sic],” while a fellow admirer exclaimed, “Girl why did you starve the world of your voice until now!?? Good lord you can sing!!!” Fellow industry heavy hitter Naomi Watts chimed in with, “Goosebumps Kate!! 🙌❤️🙌.”
“She has an amazing voice. I wish she had sung sooner in her life. She is young. I just can’t believe her voice. I saw her a year ago or so; she was on a talk show, maybe Jimmy Fallon. I was just stunned at how she sang. I am glad she is singing more. Kate is beautiful and 🎄a true talent [sic],” commented another fan.
More complimentary and surprised comments ensued, with yet another admirer praising, “I can’t believe she’s been hiding this talent all of these years!! So glad she is doing this 🎄❤️🙌.” “What an incredible voice! 🎄,” marveled a fan.
Another swooned, “Wow, she sings this brilliantly!! And she’s absolutely gorgeous,” while someone else gushed, “Wow, she’s absolutely incredible. How she hasn’t shown her talent before is beyond me; I would like her to go far like all singers [sic].”
“Wow I have never heard her sing! She’s great! 👌,” complimented a Facebooker. Echoing the same sentiment, another asserted, “Wow! I didn’t know she could sing. Great vocals!” “What a great singer! Didn’t know she could sing,” added an observer.
Referencing Kate’s other talents, a fan highlighted, “She can act, sing and she’s beautiful! Bravo Kate, Bravo!” “I had no idea she was such a beautiful, powerful singer… Talent runs in that family for sure,” stated an admirer on Facebook.
“Amazes me when someone is born beautiful, famous for acting, and then pulls out a wild card talent that was kept undercover for so long. Talented in so many ways,” penned a fellow fan.
Some people reminded the public of Kate’s familial history with music by bringing her famous father Bill Hudson into the mix. “Her father was a singer,” mentioned a Facebooker, while another noted, “Her Dad is one of the Hudson Brothers (who is a singer); she sounds great. I used to watch the Hudson’s [sic].”
Bill, Kate’s father and an actor, is well-known as a musician and was once a vocalist in a group called The Hudson Brothers, as the fans rightly noted.
Kate’s famous mother, Goldie Hawn, has also produced music in the past; therefore, she had other parents to look up to in relation to her musical career besides her father.
Although Goldie is most known for her roles in iconic movies like “The First Wives Club,” “Death Becomes Her,” and “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band,” she also recorded an album in 1972 with the same name, “Goldie,” which features 11 tracks that can be listened to on Spotify.
Given that both of Kate’s parents have established prosperous careers as performers and artists, it is understandable where she got her talent for entertainment.
In September, Kate spoke about her relationship with acting and music during a conversation with Tom Power on his show “Q with Tom Power.”
After Tom asked her about the moment she knew that entertaining felt good to her, Kate divulged, “I mean, I could be performing for nobody. It’s like singing; I could sit at that piano by myself and have one person in here and be like the happiest person on the planet.”
“There was never a question that I wanted to be on stage… even before I knew what my parents really did or my father did,” said the performer.
Kate returned to the topic of how she has always been pulled to performance, even if she mentioned her other artistic hobbies, such as beauty and clothes.
“In my mind, I was a performer from when I was… like my daughter’s age. I can see it in her. You can see it in certain kids. They’re just drawn to it in a way that… it must be in the DNA,” shared Kate.
Tom questioned Kate about what inspired her to begin creating music independently later in the same conversation. She replied, “Well, I’ve always made music; I’ve just never shared any of it because I was too scared.”
According to Kate, her concerns were rooted in her belief that music is “the most honest” form of artistic expression.
She continued by explaining that, aside from those who are directors or producers, one at least always has the chance to “hide behind someone else’s words or someone else’s vision,” even though acting also calls for a great deal of vulnerability.
“There’s something about writing your own music and putting it out into the world and hoping that it’s received warmly, or at least, gently, and it’s […] always going to be highly critical, and so, you’re really putting yourself out there,” stated Kate.
She went on to discuss how her early and sudden success as an actor had somewhat blocked her ability to pursue music at a time when her career was taking a different turn.
“But music was always — that was always my number one and then I think it just started to become this thing where I just started to get too afraid to put it out there […] I think that if I put something out at that time in my life and had like […] real rejection […] I think it would have been really, really hard for me,” admitted Kate.
Following some introspection during the pandemic’s lockdown, Kate came to the realization that releasing her music was crucial.
“It felt like I jumped off the Grand Canyon, but fell on a beautiful pillow, and it was like […] ‘I love this. I wanna jump again!'” she explained regarding how it felt to confront her fear and release music.
Kate chatted with Jimmy Fallon on the impending release of her debut album, “Glorious,” which took two and a half years to produce, before the interview with Tom.
After Jimmy asked Kate how she felt about the accomplishment, Kate replied, “It’s like too much to explain […] It’s the greatest feeling. I love music. I’ve loved music my entire life.”
She said, “It was my first love, and I’ve been writing music my whole life, and I just thought it was something I’d only have for myself until Covid, and then I was like, ‘Wait, I don’t know—I’ll regret not just putting it out in the world,’ and so I did.”
Kate and Jimmy also discussed the album’s variety of genres, which include rock, soul, and a hint of country. The 12-song album “Glorious,” which is accessible on Spotify, was released on May 17.
In a follow-up interview with “Today,” Kate Hudson discussed her experience making music with her partner, Danny Fujikawa, which she emphasized as a very special event for her. This interview took place in May 2024, the same month she spoke with Jimmy.
Speaking on her work experience with him, Kate divulged, “He is an incredibly talented musician and honestly, I feel privileged, and he’s very quiet, and to himself… But working with your partner is interesting cause you have moments where you’re like, ‘No,’ and then moments where he really kind of steps in front and says, ‘I think this is best for the song.'”
