Reba McEntire gave the crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, a moment that they will never forget during Sunday night’s Super Bowl.
Her beautiful performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” made everyone in the crowd cheer, and it gave us viewers at home goosebumps. Chris Jones, a defensive end for the Kansas City Chiefs, was moved by what he saw and started to cry.
That three-time Grammy winner gave a show that everyone will remember. It was just what we all needed to get the game going.
Reba McEntire’s version of the national anthem
Everyone knows that singing the national anthem before the Super Bowl is the biggest stage there is. After Chris Stapleton’s amazing performance last year, everyone had huge hopes for the famous Oklahoman.
When Reba was done, there was a huge round of applause, which set a great tone for the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
Taste of Country says that the NFL booked a country singer to sing the national anthem for the fourth year in a row in 2024.

Reba, who is 68 years old, told some interesting things about her show a month ago. The country star told CBS Mornings that she agreed to sing the national anthem for a special reason.
”I got the news from my manager…he said they wanted me to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, well, let me think about that,’” McEntire recalled. ”And Rex Linn, my boyfriend, who is a huge football fan, he said, ‘Yes! She’ll do it! Absolutely!”
She told herself that she was ready for the big moment because she had trained hard. She said, “I’ve been singing the national anthem in the shower [and] when we get in the car.”

”I get to sing a very special song for all Americans, people all around the world, who have really worked so hard for our freedom and to give us peace. It’s not about me — I’m the representation of this song, and I’m just honored to get to sing it. It’s a good one. I’ve been doing it for 50 years, and I’m really proud to get to sing it.”
