Police Dash Cam Caught Mother Tackle Suspect Accused Of Peeking In Daughter’s Bedroom
Sure, moms will do anything to keep their kids safe, right?
Phyllis Pena came back to her home in Lake Jackson, Texas, just after 7 a.m. on January 31 and saw a guy looking through the window of her 15-year-old daughter.
Pena called the cops right away.
A 19-year-old man named Zane Hawkins ran away, but cops were able to catch him.
Hawkins tried to get away again while Pena, her daughter, and the cops were outside.
That was not going to happen, though, Pere. Not while she’s around.
A police officer’s dash cam caught Pena tackling Hawkins.
“It’s not very often that we have somebody that actually steps in, puts themself in harm’s way to assist in apprehending somebody,” Sgt. Roy Welch said.
Pena probably would do what she did again, even though it put her in danger to tap the suspect.
“My kids are my life and just making sure I protect them.”
Hawkins was caught and charged with having a controlled drug, trying to avoid arrest, and resisting arrest.
You did great, mom!
